Junior Project Manager
We have a new opportunity for a recent graduate or junior construction professional to join a leading building contractor based in the West of Ireland.
This role is primarily an office-based position with the opportunity to work from their base in Galway or Sligo. Occasional travel to sites will be required.
Key Responsibilities:
* Project Planning: Assist in developing detailed project plans, schedules, and costs to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
* Team Coordination: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including contractors, subcontractors, engineers, architects, and on-site staff to ensure efficient project execution.
* Documentation: Maintain accurate project documentation such as drawings, permits, contracts, and change orders.
* Risk Management: Identify and mitigate project risks, ensuring that safety protocols are followed.
* Cost Control: Monitor project costs, track expenses, and help to identify cost-saving opportunities.
* Quality Assurance: Ensure that projects meet high-quality standards, including compliance with building codes and industry regulations.
* Reporting: Provide regular project updates to senior project managers and stakeholders, highlighting key milestones and potential issues.
* Problem Solving: Assist in resolving issues that arise during project execution, such as delays, conflicts, or unexpected challenges.
* Health and Safety: Promote a safe working environment and enforce safety protocols and practices.
* Client Communication: Maintain positive relationships with clients, addressing their concerns and ensuring their satisfaction.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in construction management or civil engineering.
* Experience working in the construction sector post-graduation in a related field is an advantage, but not essential.
* Full driver's licence.
* Strong analytical and numerical skills.
* Excellent attention to detail.
* Good communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work effectively under own initiative and as part of a team.
* Strong organisational and time management skills.
* Strong IT skills.
* A strong desire to learn and grow within the construction industry.
