Job Summary
The ideal candidate will be responsible for the operational management of building and engineering services for Technical Services, as well as the management of site scope, including staff management. This role requires expertise in engineering maintenance, contract work, and commercial management.
Main Responsibilities:
* Ensure that engineering maintenance, including contract work, is carried out to appropriate standards and specifications.
* Provide expert specialist and professional building and engineering expertise to other staff, directors, and senior management of the organisation, including external agencies.
* Undertake Authorized Person responsibilities in relation to specified systems.
* Manage the day-to-day commercial management of site management and operation, including developing, implementing, and managing energy policies.
* Implement and manage the Permit to Work system and Safe Systems at work.
* Evaluate services to ensure compliance with legislative and statutory requirements.
* Lead a team responsible for ensuring the safe operation of all plant and equipment on site.
* Manage the commercial aspect of the operational element of the contract, including performance monitoring and contract compliance.
* Deliver cost-effective planned preventative maintenance services.
* Manage reactive maintenance services during regular operating hours and outside regular operating hours.
* Be available for emergencies and provide on-call support.
* Oversee the management of the Permit to Work System on client sites for works within the company's remit.
* Provide training to staff on system operation and facilities awareness, authorise competent persons, and manage contractors, consultants, specialists, and others.
* Take responsibility for an efficient and effective maintenance service to the client, adhering to client and HR policies.
* Promote staff morale and well-being.
* Deliver training to staff, review work performance, and progress.
* Serve as line manager for estates operational staff.
* Conduct PDR staff assessments and identify areas for improvement.
* Lead operational and commercial matters related to the Hard FM Service delivered to the customer.
* Ensure that all services are delivered in a fully customer-focused manner.
* Maintain consistent, proactive management in supporting Health & Safety and Environmental legislation, and provide effective business solutions to operational matters within agreed funding and resource limits.
* Maximise contract profitability and manage costs effectively.
* Achieve monthly and quarterly KPIs/SLAs.
* Organise and lead Tech Services bi-weekly/monthly meetings.
