Our client is a leading manufacturing company in noise control solutions based in Wicklow. They are in an exciting growth phase and they are looking for an ambitious General Manager to be part of this growing Irish company with an international focus. The successful General Manager will have an opportunity to work in this innovative, award-winning successful Irish company.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
Job Summary: The General Manager will oversee all staff, budgets, resources and activities within the operation and ensure they are effectively aligned with the growth strategy. Key to this will be engaging with all internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Oversee all day-to-day operations, be responsible for staff matters which may include staff succession awareness, recruitment, development, attitude and behavioural issues, competency and retainment issues, staff allocation.
2. Provide commercial input to contacts with clients, and if necessary, client's representatives.
3. Provide commercial advice to the onsite team in connection with all project issues and provide input to area commercial discussions/reviews.
4. Take part in discussions concerning project performance and provide commercial input to project strategy.
5. Ensure the production of monthly cost and value reports, quarterly forecasts and company tied costs. Obtain cash-flow information and present all reports.
6. Design strategy and set goals for ambitious growth.
7. Develop and implement action plans that achieve the strategy with particular reference to commercial goals and supply chain fulfilment.
8. Manage and engage people, ensuring an effective working environment based on teamwork and collaboration.
9. Ensure effective processes are in place in key areas of the business to ensure the customer receives the highest standards of quality, compliance and delivery to plan.
10. Maintain budgets and optimise expenses.
11. Prepare regular reports for managing Director ensuring transparency on progress versus goals and objectives supported by an effective approach to problem solving when needed.
12. Ensure there is a culture of continuous improvement in the business which translates to improved operations and financial performance.
13. Ensure staff follow Health & Safety regulations.
NUMBER OF YEARS PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
With the primary focus of the role as outlined above, this will be achieved through an effective combination and application of the following key competencies:

* Setting Direction: Clearly and unequivocally communicate the company’s sales targets and KPIs and strive not only to meet these but to exceed them where possible. Experience in planning and budgeting.

Ensure that the teams both collectively and individually execute and deliver against their targets, in a manner that is customer-focused, effective and efficient and that enhances the customer’s view of the organisation, its products and its customer service.
* Promoting teamwork: Support and build collaborative, respectful relationships with the teams, team members and across the organisation. It is essential that the core principle of teamwork is ever present, maintained and grown.
* Motivate & Lead: You must not only ‘lead’ your team in the above manner, but you must also ‘motivate’ and ‘manage’ them. Your role is to facilitate the team and team members in the execution of their roles and to enable them to deliver what both the customer and the organisation needs and wants.
Skills/Experience:
* Significant experience with managing commercial and technical teams.
* Sound technical understanding of noise control technology & services.
* Supply Chain Experience.
* Excellent communication, presentation, and people skills.
* Good knowledge in the Commercial Vehicle Industry or Mechanical or Manufacturing or related sectors, Data Center, mechanical contractors.
