The Role
The Maintenance Engineering Supervisor is responsible for directing and coordinating all maintenance activities in support of production in a safe, cost-effective and environmentally sound manner, assuring capacity and achieving plant performance metrics.
Responsibilities
1. Supervision of employees, allocating work, coordinating training, and dealing with issues as they arise up to counselling stage of disciplinary process.
2. Ensure Attendance Management policy is adhered to.
3. Recruitment & Selection of all technicians for assigned department(s).
4. Performance Management – prepare, assess and conduct all 121s & appraisals including end year review, contract staff appraisals, etc.
5. CORE Time & Attendance – sign off T&A on a weekly basis in a correct and accurate manner.
6. Providing a safe and injury-free workplace for all employees.
7. Ensures compliance with all applicable Environmental, Health and Safety legislation & adherence to Safety procedures & requirements.
8. Partner with the Quality department to ensure compliance with Quality Standards.
9. Foster culture of right first time (RFT) ensuring product quality.
10. Provide on-going assessment of equipment issues and reliability (based on gathered data and statistical analysis) and apply effective methods of preventative and corrective maintenance to ensure resource deployment is effective and efficient.
11. Follow the appropriate SAP Next procedures.
Who You Are
1. Engineering Science degree or recognised equivalent.
2. Minimum 8+ years’ experience in an engineering maintenance leadership role, preferably within the Medical Device and or Pharmaceutical Industry.
3. Trades Qualified an advantage.
4. Demonstrated high performance history, proven ability to execute and get results.
5. Excellent leadership, facilitation, and communication skills.
6. Strong project management experience.
7. Ability to influence within a matrix organisation with direct and indirect authority.
8. High level of energy and enthusiasm and the ability to energize others.
9. Ability to work with employees at all levels of the organisation.
10. Experience with planning and executing change within a high work-paced environment.
11. Keen ability to teach and coach.
12. Preferable experience with SAP Next / PM system.
13. Preferable experience with a Calibration System.
14. Previous experience within an ATEX environment an advantage.
15. Be familiar with planned preventative and proactive maintenance approaches.
16. Excellent awareness and experience in relation to Quality and Environmental Health and Safety.
17. Analytical with experience in Lean six sigma methodologies.
18. Familiar with GMP requirements within a regulated industry.
19. Effective verbal, written & interpersonal communication skills.
20. Strong organisational, time management and planning ability.
21. Computer Literate: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
22. Methodical Work Approach.
