Program & Project Scheduler - Shanbally, Ringaskiddy, Cork (Hybrid role)
18 Month Contract
BioMarin’s Technical Operations group is responsible for creating our drugs for use in clinical trials and for scaling production of those drugs for the commercial market. These engineers, technicians, scientists, and support staff build and maintain BioMarin’s cutting-edge manufacturing processes and sites, provide quality assurance and quality control to ensure we meet regulatory standards, and procure the needed goods and services to support manufacturing and coordinating the worldwide movement of our drugs to patients.
Who We Are
Technical Development Services (TDS) is hiring a Program & Project Scheduler for the Drug Substance Technology (DST) team with the following remit.
1. Developing Project Schedules: Create detailed project timelines using scheduling software, outlining all phases of the project from initiation to completion across multiple Groups in TDS.
2. Resource Allocation: Identify and allocate resources (personnel, equipment, materials) effectively to ensure project tasks are completed on time.
3. Monitoring Progress: Regularly review and update project schedules to reflect actual progress, identifying delays or discrepancies as they arise.
4. Performance Reporting and status updates: Provide adherence to planning (ATP) status of projects and portfolio health to leadership team to make decisions on project team key risks and challenges.
5. Communication: Collaborate with project leads, team members, and stakeholders to communicate output data, progress updates, and to enable appropriate management decision to be taken around program & portfolio management.
6. Risk Management: Identify potential scheduling risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize impact on the project timeline.
7. Planview Migration: Coordinate with Information Management in process of creation Planview environment and transition from current PM tool to Planview.
8. Change Management: Assess the impact of project scope changes on the schedule and adjust timelines and resources as necessary.
9. Training and Support: Provide guidance and training to team members on scheduling tools and methodologies to enhance overall project execution.
10. Driving excellence & Continuous Improvement through portfolio scheduling in DST & communication to key stakeholders of both inputs and outputs of information. Continuously seek opportunities for process improvements in scheduling practices, standardize durations to increase efficiency and effectiveness in project delivery.
Skills
1. Minimum of 8 years experience in scheduling portfolio & technical projects using Planview.
2. Strong in Project Management tools: Microsoft Project, Planview and/or other planning software packages.
3. Minimum of 3 years experience in Biotech or pharmaceutical industry in a project management/scheduling role.
4. Demonstrated ability to analyse resourcing capacity vs. demand.
5. Experience collaborating effectively with other functional groups to achieve business objectives.
6. Demonstrated initiative, results oriented, initiative to institute change.
7. Exceptional communication skills required, with an ability to interact with and influence individuals and teams at all levels across the organization and global network.
Education
1. PMP Certification required
2. Planview experience is essential
