The roles of Valuation Manager – Rating include, but are not limited to, the following duties:Leading, driving, and taking overall responsibility for the team assigned in Revaluation, Revision or Appeals, having particular focus on performance management;Determining statutory valuations as required;Leading the programme of change and supporting the staff and the organisation in achieving the objectives set for the Valuation Function;Actively engaging the team to set and manage quality and quantity targets for all team members, ensuring that the team/project targets are met;Supporting team members in the achievement of their goals and targets through mentoring, coaching, on-the-job training, and other development activities;Managing and delivering all case work and associated valuation tasks as required, while taking responsibility for valuations delivered by the team;Having excellent knowledge and understanding of, and be an expert in dealing with, all relevant legislation and the application of precedent, practice notes, and case law underpinning rating practices and principles;Overseeing the application of relevant precedents and determinations of the Valuation Tribunal and the Higher Courts to ongoing casework;Possessing the knowledge of current international valuation practices and pertinent valuation policies in other jurisdictions;Working cooperatively and productively within a team environment and formal project structures as required;Developing, and cooperating, in a flexible manner with new and innovative approaches to achieving outputs;Demonstrating a strong focus on continuous professional development and engagement in self-development, actively seeking feedback and opportunities for growth;Participating effectively in expert working groups and other fora, as required.Note: This job description is subject to re-definition as part of ongoing reforms within the Public Service and change management initiatives within TÉ.Job Requirements (including qualification & experience)On the closing date of Monday, 31st March 2025 at 5pm candidates must satisfy all the following requirements:Hold a relevant academic qualification at minimum Level 8 on the National Framework of Qualifications, or equivalent; andHave obtained the professional qualification of Chartered Surveyor or an equivalent professional qualification; andHave a record of relevant achievement in their career to date; andThe capacity to demonstrate to a high level the key competencies that have been devised for posts at this level under the following headings:Leadership;Judgement, Analysis & Decision Making;Management & Delivery of Results;Interpersonal & Communication Skills;Specialist Knowledge, Expertise & Self Development;Drive & Commitment to Public Service Values.Resource management;Quality, risk and process improvement;Budgetary management.Benefits & CompensationRemuneration for the Grade of Valuation Manager is Engineer Grade 1 + Allowance.The salary for this position is as follows (rates effective from 1st March 2025):Location: The substantive location for these posts is in TÉ headquarters in Dublin. We have several regional locations which may allow for successful candidates to be based outside of Dublin, subject to business needs and office capacity in the regional locations.
