Job Description
As an Engineering Facilities Manager, you will oversee the maintenance, repair, and operational efficiency of all engineering systems within the hospital.
Working in a fast-paced healthcare environment, you will ensure that all systems comply with stringent safety and regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
• Manage the maintenance and operation of engineering systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, medical gas, and critical infrastructure.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant healthcare regulations, safety standards, and engineering codes.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and optimize system performance.
• Lead a team of engineers and technicians, providing guidance, training, and performance management.
• Monitor and manage the engineering budget, ensuring cost-effective solutions while maintaining quality and reliability.
• Respond promptly to engineering-related emergencies, implementing effective solutions to minimize disruption.
• Conduct regular inspections and audits of systems and equipment, identifying areas for improvement.
• Collaborate with hospital leadership, contractors, and vendors to support operational goals.
• Prepare detailed reports on maintenance activities, compliance, and system performance.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field) or equivalent qualification.
Extensive experience in facilities management, with a focus on engineering systems in healthcare or similarly regulated environments.
Strong knowledge of building systems, critical infrastructure, and compliance standards in a hospital setting.
Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team effectively.
Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to facility challenges.
Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) is an asset.
Strong organizational and communication skills to liaise with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders.
