My Client, a leading Semi-State Organization, is in need of a Procurement Specialist to join their Procurement team in their offices based in Oranmore, Galway. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Procurement Specialist with experience in Public Procurement to join a forward-thinking, growing organization and take their career to the next level. Responsibilities:
1. Manage the procurement process for the Services & Operations categories, including user requirements, category profiling, sourcing strategy development, tender management, and contract setup.
2. Work with business areas to ensure tender requirements are agreed, and contracts are in place when needed.
3. Responsible for the advertisement, delivery, and award of tenders in line with business requirements and relevant procurement regulations.
4. Support the development of robust procurement strategies for the assigned categories and assist in the execution of annual implementation plans.
5. Identify and deliver value for money through the implementation of cost savings and continuous improvement programmes from category strategies.
6. Reporting & analysis of tender activities, as well as supplier market insights for assigned procurement categories.
7. Engage in improvement projects and initiatives to support our sustainability objectives.
8. Responsible for implementing resourcing solutions to ensure a healthy contractor base that can fully meet the capability needs of the business.
9. Support the development of contractors and suppliers through collaboration and partnerships.
10. Develop a strong, vibrant, and competitive supplier base.
11. Develop strong collaboration with key stakeholders to ensure alignment with the objectives of the business and improved procurement planning.
Requirements:
1. Previous Public Procurement experience (having used Etenders is highly desired).
2. 3rd level qualification in Supply Chain, Business, or related field.
3. 3 years procurement experience in a similar role.
4. Strong IT systems skills including Excel.
5. Strong relationship-building skills.
6. Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
7. Hardworking and reliable.
