Director, EngineeringLocation: Limerick (Hybrid)About the Role:We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Engineering to lead and inspire our Post Market and Manufacturing Engineering teams. This is a high-impact leadership role where you’ll drive innovation, optimize operations, and ensure engineering excellence across a global organization. As a key member of the senior leadership team, you will shape engineering strategy, enhance cross-functional collaboration, and champion continuous improvement initiatives.Key Responsibilities:Lead & Inspire: Manage and mentor teams across Post Market Engineering (CAPA, Design Sustaining, Clinical Communications), Manufacturing Engineering (NPI, Production Line Support, Calibration, Toolroom, Process Improvement), Engineering Systems/Support, and the Engineering Test Lab (Biocompatibility & Sterilization).Drive Operational Excellence: Oversee engineering budgets, optimize manufacturing processes, and implement best-in-class continuous improvement methodologies.Foster Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with R&D, Quality, and Regulatory teams to ensure seamless product transfers, regulatory compliance, and technical excellence.Global Best Practices: Engage with engineering leaders across the organization to leverage synergies, implement best practices, and maintain a world-class engineering function.Ensure Compliance & Risk Management: Oversee adherence to ISO, EU, and FDA standards, ensuring product quality, safety, and effective post-market risk analysis.Champion Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement strategies to eliminate waste, enhance efficiency, and drive innovation in manufacturing and engineering processes.Effective Communication & Strategic Execution: Provide clear updates, resolve technical challenges, and drive project success while aligning with global engineering strategies.People & Performance Leadership: Develop and support engineering talent, providing mentorship, training, and leadership to build a high-performing, engaged team.Qualifications & Experience:Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field required; an advanced degree (Master’s, PhD) is preferred.Experience: Minimum of 12 years in engineering, with at least 7 years in a leadership role managing engineering teams.Industry Knowledge: Strong expertise in product development, manufacturing processes, and regulatory standards (ISO, EU, FDA).Strategic & Analytical Thinker: Ability to drive long-term engineering strategies while managing complex technical and operational challenges.Leadership & Influence: A proven leader with excellent communication skills, the ability to build strong relationships, and a results-driven mindset.Continuous Improvement Champion: Passion for process optimization, problem-solving, and leveraging best practices to enhance efficiency and quality.Global Perspective: Ability to work across international teams and drive alignment with global engineering initiatives.This role offers the opportunity to lead high-impact engineering initiatives, drive innovation, and shape the future of manufacturing excellence in a dynamic, collaborative environment.
