Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Systems Analyst with actuarial experience to join our financial services client on a permanent basis. This hybrid role is based in Dublin and offers an exciting opportunity to work within a dynamic and collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Collaborate with actuarial, finance, and IT teams to understand business requirements and translate them into system specifications.
* Design, develop, and enhance actuarial systems to support business needs.
* Ensure the accuracy and integrity of actuarial models and data within the systems.
* Support the implementation and maintenance of actuarial software solutions.
* Conduct data analysis and provide insights to enhance system performance and business decision-making.
* Work with stakeholders to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
* Troubleshoot system issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement effective solutions.
* Document system processes, user requirements, and technical specifications.
* Participate in system testing, validation, and user training.
Requirements:
* A degree in Computer Science, Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Finance, or a related field.
* 5+ years of experience as a Systems Analyst, Business Analyst, or in a similar role within the financial services or insurance sector.
* Strong understanding of actuarial models, processes, and calculations.
* Experience working with actuarial software such as Prophet, MoSes, or similar tools.
* Proficiency in SQL and data management tools for analysis and reporting.
* Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python, VBA, or R.
* Experience in systems development, implementation, and integration projects.
* Strong problem-solving skills with an analytical mindset.
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
* Knowledge of regulatory and compliance frameworks relevant to actuarial functions.
Preferred Skills:
* Experience in cloud-based actuarial solutions (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
* Understanding of Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
* Experience with ETL tools and data transformation techniques.
* Familiarity with financial modeling and risk assessment methodologies.
* Professional actuarial qualifications or working towards them (e.g., FIA, FSA, or equivalent) is a plus.
