What you will do:
8. Leads an NPD production team to ensure targets/KPIs for quality/service/costs/people development are achieved.
9. Ensures quality standards and expectations are communicated and deployed. Quality standards and objectives (rework, scrap, line clearance, QA audits, cell/value stream shutdown) are communicated and achieved.
10. Manages and prioritises project/production builds to meet customer (project team) requirements and maintain inventory levels. Communicate and manage output levels along with appropriate operational metric reporting.
11. Attends regular meetings to provide operational updates to NPD cross functional teams based in Ireland and USA.
12. Sets team and individuals up for success by providing NPD Training, coaching, feedback and support.
13. Creates a positive employee relations environment and facilitates high engagement within the production team and with the cross functional team.
14. Provides timely feedback and review and ensures all performance issues are dealt with in a constructive, fair and prompt manner. Ensures that all employees are treated with fairness and respect.
15. Facilitates open two-way communications regarding individual, team and company performance through weekly team meetings and daily interaction on the line with a view to optimising efficiency and productivity. Keeps the team informed on key project and site communications.
16. Liaises with training to develop and implement training curriculums and team training plans.
17. Participates in the selection and hiring of Production Operators.
18. Maintains GMP / 6S at a high level within the department through the involvement of all team members.
19. Lead / participate in continuous improvement activities, e.g. Lean/Cost Reduction initiatives.
20. Ensures Time and Attendance system compliance and effective Annual Leave and Overtime planning
21. Provides leadership and direction for the advancement of Lean Manufacturing with a focus on commercial readiness.
22. All other duties as assigned.
What you need:
Required
23. Degree or master’s in business, Production Management, Engineering or similar Discipline or demonstrated equivalent experience
24. 4 years minimum experience in a manufacturing environment.
Desired
25. 2 years Supervisor experience preferable.
26. Possesses and applies a broad knowledge of principles, practices and procedures of a production environment.
27. Usually works with a minimum of supervision, conferring with leader on unusual matters. Expectation is that working on projects will have more changing demands and priorities over a commercial line.
28. Demonstrated leadership aptitude to work with people and set direction as part of a cross functional team.
29. Good knowledge of GMP / FDA regulatory requirements, housekeeping, health and safety.
30. Genuine interest in investing in people and facilitates individual and team engagement and development.
31. Ability to coach, provide effective feedback and manage performance.
32. Problem solving methodology experience required with process knowledge desirable.
33. Can interpret and analyse information and translate into operation actions.
34. The production supervisor (NPD) needs to stay current on issues and best practices within base business production to ensure those are considered on new product programs.
35. Excellent Influencing and communication skills.
