Job Description
The Product Development Technician II provides technical support to engineers in set-up and calibration tasks, as well as performing rework and quality testing related to the production of parts, components, subassemblies and final assemblies. Develops and recommends procedures and methods, and prepares technical reports and documentation. Performs technical evaluations of events to determine root cause; recommends corrective action.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design and develop delivery systems for client companies.
* Assemble, test, and package complex mechanical devices following written and verbal instructions.
* Collaborate with Engineers to design and develop assembly methods.
* Maintain accurate work records such as engineering notebooks and routers.
* Train assemblers, technicians, and engineers in assembly methods.
* Maintain accurate inventory records.
* Assist with in-process testing to ensure product meets specification.
* Operate computer, laboratory, and manufacturing equipment to test and develop prototype products.
* Ensure work areas are clean and organized according to required procedures.
* Assist in maintaining traceability of products.
* Work with team members to maximize productivity and efficiency.
* FOLLOW COMPANY RULES AND POLICIES.
* FOLLOW ALL SAFETY RULES, QUALITY, AND ISO REQUIREMENTS.
* Implement good working practices and procedures.
* Ensure all products are built to the highest standard of quality.
Education and Experience Requirements:
* Technical Diploma is advantageous.
* Braiding and lamination experience is desirable.
* Balloon Catheter development or manufacturing experience is desirable.
Essential Skills and Abilities:
* Excellent communication skills and organisational skills.
* Able to interact with client companies in a professional manner.
* Able and willing to work in a controlled environment and cleanroom assembly area.
* Able to understand and follow mechanical assembly drawings.
* Able to understand and follow written instructions.
* Able to use assemble equipment such as a braider, laminator, spot welder (training will be provided).
* Able to work with minimum supervision.
* Attention to detail is a necessity, the ability to demonstrate sound judgement/rational.
* Highly motivated and able to work within a team-based environment, flexibly and willing to learn.
