Duties and Responsibilities of the Role:
* Perform regular inspections and maintenance tasks to ensure the proper functioning of the facility. This may include checking electrical systems, plumbing, HVAC, lighting, and other essential building components.
* Respond promptly to maintenance requests and carry out repairs as needed. This can involve fixing broken equipment, replacing faulty parts, and resolving issues related to the building's infrastructure.
* Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards, conducting routine safety checks, and addressing any safety hazards promptly.
* Maintain and service equipment such as power tools, machinery, and other assets used in the maintenance process.
* Assist with painting and decorating projects to maintain the aesthetic appearance of the property.
* Conduct regular inspections and maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and completed tasks.
* Keep track of maintenance supplies, tools, and equipment, ensuring they are adequately stocked and available when needed.
* Be prepared to respond to emergency maintenance issues, such as leaks, floods, power outages, or other urgent situations.
* Work with other members of the maintenance team and interact with building occupants professionally and courteously.
* Adhere to health and safety guidelines while performing maintenance tasks, using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and following established protocols.
* Implement preventive maintenance programs to proactively identify and address potential issues before they become significant problems.
Requirements for the role:
* A strong knowledge and experience of plumbing systems, installations and repairs.
* A good knowledge and experience of other various maintenance disciplines, such as tiling, carpentry, electrical, painting and general repair work.
* The ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and working in various weather conditions.
* Strong problem-solving skills to identify and resolve maintenance issues efficiently.
* Effective communication skills to report maintenance tasks, interact with team members, and provide updates to supervisors.
* Understanding of health and safety regulations related to maintenance work.
* Specific certifications or licenses, such as a driver's license or trade-specific qualifications.
* Work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, especially in emergency situations.
