Assistant Project Manager - Water Leakage Reduction Programme (Civil Engineering)
This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Civil or Environmental Engineering professional to join the Water Leakage Reduction Programme as an Assistant Project Manager.
The role involves managing projects related to Water Mains Rehabilitation, Repair, Pressure Management, and Lead Replacement in partnership with a renowned client who has an established relationship with Uisce Éireann (Irish Water) for the delivery of essential water and wastewater network projects.
Due to the recent awarding of a major contract in the Leakage Reduction Programme, we are seeking a motivated Assistant Project Manager to join the team in Cork and report to the Project Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
As a key member of the Engineering Water Team, your duties will include:
* Project and Budget Management: Oversee the day-to-day planning, design progress, and construction management of water network projects, liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
* Team Leadership: Manage project teams to ensure the successful delivery of clean water main projects and network rehabilitation.
* Lifecycle Representation: Represent the employer throughout the entire project lifecycle, from initiation to completion.
* Feasibility and Planning: Produce feasibility studies, option appraisals, cost plans, and business cases.
* Collaborative Design: Work with other design team members in an integrated approach.
* Procurement Management: Prepare contract documents, drawings, and specifications for procurement.
* Construction Monitoring: Manage project progress against the program, monitor costs, and ensure quality assurance during the construction phase.
Key Attributes and Experience:
* Qualifications: A third-level qualification in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering.
* Experience: A minimum of 3 years' experience in civil engineering, with a preference for experience in the water or wastewater sector.
* Skills: Excellent communication skills, particularly in report writing and client liaison.
* Technical Knowledge: A working knowledge of AutoCAD is advantageous.
