Senior Environmental Health and Safety Specialist
Job Summary:
This is a 12-month contract position within the Pharmaceutical and Bio-Pharmaceutical sector. The company is expanding rapidly, with manufacturing sites worldwide and regular award wins confirming its market leadership status.
Responsibilities:
* Ensure compliance with statutory legislation and internal policies and procedures.
* Coordinate environmental controls and ensure compliance with IPC license.
* Maintain accurate records and generate reports in a timely and efficient manner.
* Liaise with external EHS Agencies to ensure compliance with all environmental licenses for the facility.
* Coordinate site environmental waste management and drive continuous improvements.
* Ensure compliance with Battery, WEEE and Waste Packaging Directives for Europe.
* Conduct risk assessments and implement appropriate control measures.
* Implement and update EHS control procedures as required.
* Develop training programs and provide training on EHS.
Requirements:
* Degree in Science, Engineering, and/or Health & Safety (Level 8).
* Postgraduate in Health & Safety (Level 9) is preferred.
* Related pharmaceutical/biosafety industry experience and regulatory environment experience are required.
* Demonstrate experience in managing EHS Teams and leading Root Cause investigations.
* A strong attention to detail and sound scientific problem-solving skills are essential.
* A strategic mindset with experience in an Occupational Health and Safety role in a manufacturing or process industry is required.
