The National Screening Service (NSS) delivers four national population-based screening programmes – for cervical, breast and bowel screening and for detecting sight-threatening retinopathy in people with diabetes.
Our programmes focus on looking for early signs of disease in healthy people, so that we can:

The Opportunity To assist with the delivery of patient care under the supervision and direction of Nursing or designated officer or other Professional Staff
The Health Care Assistant post at BreastCheck is broad based and includes assisting in Assessment Clinics and providing support to the Clinical Team to clients who have or fear they may have breast cancer.
There is currently one specified purpose and wholetime vacancy available in BreastCheck Merrion Screening Unit, Merrion Road, Dublin 4
Principal Duties and Responsibilities To support the Clinical team in the provision of a continuing supportive service to clients and their families. To ensure good customer service to the women and team Bring to the attention of the Unit Manager or other nominated supervisor any areas of concern or requiring attention within the unit. To contribute to a welcoming atmosphere and an environment of dignity and respect for clients. To do light housework and to ensure a high standard of hygiene in the units To provide beverages and snacks to clients when required To provide ongoing daily support to the multidisciplinary team To deliver specimens to laboratory/theatre To escort patients to hospital To deliver/collect internal post from host hospital Support the functioning of mobile units on site e.g.
Prepare stock items for delivery to the mobile units for e.g.
stationary and general consumable etc. To assist in patient throughput and workflow in the Unit To assist in preparing patients and assisting where necessary during procedures i.e.
