A Construction Safety Engineer is required by CareerWise Recruitment for our Cork based pharmaceutical client. This is a 12-24 month contract. If you have worked in a Global position then this is the position for you!
THE ROLE:
* Lead the implementation of the Global construction safety strategy across the project lifecycle, in particular the Behavior Based Safety program Safe by Choice;
* Review of the Construction and Commissioning & Quality HSE-plans;
* Review of project specific work permits and Safe Plan of Action (SPA), Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and/or Task Risk Assessments (TRA);
* Support/advise the Global project manager during all phases of the project in relation to the project safety performance (leading and lagging indicators);
* Coach/support the EPCM safety professional with the Global practices and procedures;
* Coach/support the contractors with the Global practices and procedures;
* Roll out/implement the safety incentive plan;
* Participate in the EHSE checklist review;
* Participate in the constructability reviews;
* Track safety statistics and initiate improvement plans if needed;
* Monitor and evaluate the EPCM Safety Performance against the Project Plan and identify improvements as required;
* Establish relationships with the client and local GSE team and get familiar with the local (safety) procedures;
* Lead and/or support incident investigations.
REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field of education;
* At least five years of experience in a comparable environment (pharmaceutical, oil and gas, and/or food industry);
* Proven construction safety management excellence, demonstrated over multiple assignments;
* Knowledge of Pharmaceutical product development and manufacturing facilities and plant operations are highly desirable;
* Subject Matter Expert in respect to safety;
* Familiar with MS Office;
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
* Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
