Position Description
ESB Renewables O&M is a division within Generation & Trading (G&T) with responsibility for the asset management and the Operation and Maintenance (O&M) of ESB’s 28 onshore wind farms (951MW), 6 Battery Energy Storage Sites and 1 Synchronous Compensator across ROI, NI, England, and Wales.
This role presents the successful candidate an exciting opportunity to join an expanding department and gain detailed knowledge of the Operation and Maintenance of ESB’s onshore wind farms. Deliver a range of support services to assist in condition assessments, end of warranty, end of contract and maintenance management projects through the full life cycle of the plant from mobilization to End of Design Life.
Key Responsibilities
1. Support the optimization and upgrade of Maximo to deliver an efficient and effective O&M function for ESB wind farms in respect of preventative, predictive, corrective, and statutory maintenance requirements.
2. Administration of the Maximo Maintenance Management System including monthly reporting, asset risks, setup of KPIs, monitoring overdue KPIs and training of Wind Operations Staff.
3. Maintain a single asset register structure that meets O&M and Asset Management requirements for Maximo, LTAPs, etc.
4. Review of OEM service provider maintenance recommendations and best practice maintenance policies for wind farm sites with a view to updating maintenance policies.
5. Creation of Standard Operating Procedures, Maintenance Instructions, and Inspection Test Plans in line with PGTS and OEM recommendations.
6. Set-up of new Wind Farm sites into the Maximo Maintenance Management System.
7. Ensure statutory inspections and certificates are up to date.
8. Develop capability for integrating maintenance reports received from service providers.
9. Carrying out asset analysis and troubleshooting, continually improving the overall asset performance.
10. Develop deep understanding of major component replacement and repair of wind turbines across ESB’s operational wind fleet.
11. Manage the annual Civil and Geotechnical inspections and non-Overhaul projects.
12. Undertake ad hoc projects as assigned.
Experience and Qualifications
1. A minimum of 3 years’ experience within the wind industry.
2. 3rd level qualification (engineering / technical based) or equivalent work experience within the wind industry.
3. Experience and competence in Operations/Maintenance of Renewable/Power Plant technologies, systems, and procedures.
4. Ability to delegate and assign work to others to ensure on time completion of work in line with priorities.
5. Experience in wind industry with knowledge of wind farm operation and turbine performance or comparable experience in generation.
6. Strong analytical capability with an ability to use and develop large scale data systems and tools.
7. Teamwork with ability to work with cross functional teams both within Renewables O&M and across all areas of Generation & Trading, Asset Management and E&MP.
8. The demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities along with strong commercial and project management capability.
9. Flexible and self-motivated with excellent communication and reporting skills.
10. Health & Safety Qualifications (IOSH, CSCS).
11. WTSR Authorizations (AT/AE).
12. GWO Working at heights and First Aid Training.
13. Experience with heavy lifting operations with a working knowledge of crane and rigging requirements.
14. Knowledge of specialized equipment such as vibration analysis, ultrasound, bore scope and thermal imaging.
Location
The successful candidate will be based at ESB Head Office, Dublin, or suitable Wind Farm location.

€46,200 to €54,450 per annum
