About the Role
Signatus are partnering with an alternative legal services provider in Ireland to hire a commercial New Business Development Director into the leadership team. Your sole focus will be identifying, cultivating, and closing €6M+ in annual revenue through large, multi-year Managed Legal Services (MLS) contracts.
This role demands a strategic and proactive approach to developing business relationships and positioning us as the go-to partner for outsourced commercial contracting and data privacy solutions.
Your success will be driven by leveraging your industry network, engaging directly with senior legal decision-makers, and employing innovative strategies to uncover and secure new business opportunities.
Responsibilities
1. Proactively meet with General Counsels, Heads of Legal, and other senior executives at enterprise-level organizations to understand their challenges and present tailored MLS solutions.
2. Schedule meetings and attend networking events, conferences, and industry forums to connect with potential clients.
3. Conduct in-depth research to identify high-potential prospects, industries, and companies ripe for MLS solutions.
4. Leverage your existing network of senior legal professionals to secure warm introductions and referrals.
5. Initiate targeted outreach campaigns, including personalized emails, phone calls, and LinkedIn messages, to generate leads.
6. Collaborate with marketing to craft compelling content campaigns and ABM campaigns that resonate with legal decision-makers.
7. Develop strategic partnerships with complementary service providers to uncover joint opportunities.
8. Host exclusive, high-touch events (e.g., executive dinners or roundtables) tailored to senior legal professionals.
9. Build relationships with industry associations, legal tech providers, and consulting firms to identify referral opportunities.
10. Monitor news and trends to identify businesses undergoing changes (e.g., mergers, compliance needs) that may require MLS solutions.
11. Own the end-to-end sales cycle, conducting discovery sessions to uncover pain points, presenting bespoke solutions, leading negotiations, and closing deals.
12. Maintain a robust pipeline of €10M+ in potential opportunities to ensure consistent deal flow and attainment of annual targets.
13. Stay ahead of industry developments, including legal innovation, ALSP trends, and regulatory changes, to position us as a thought leader and trusted advisor.
Required Skills
1. You have 10+ years of experience closing complex, high-value MLS, ALSP, or professional services deals, consistently exceeding revenue targets of €5M or more annually.
2. You bring a deep understanding of commercial contracting, data privacy, and legal operations, with a strong existing network of senior legal decision-makers.
3. You have demonstrated success in developing and executing innovative business development strategies to win large, multi-year contracts.
4. Your communication and negotiation skills are world-class, allowing you to present and influence senior executives with clarity and confidence.
5. You possess an entrepreneurial mindset and are highly self-motivated to independently build relationships and explore creative avenues for generating new business.
6. You are proficient in CRM tools and leveraging digital platforms for prospecting and relationship management.
