Analytical Development Chemist Internship

This role is based at our Cork, Ireland API site.
How will you make an impact?
The AD chemist intern will function as a key member of the team. You will be responsible for providing technical support for all phases of drug development. This will include high-quality analytical and technical support to internal and external customers, ensuring that analytical infrastructure is in place to support the introduction of new products and development activities. You will promote and maintain laboratory GMP/Safety within the Analytical Development (AD) group to ensure the AD laboratory is maintained as an inspection-ready facility and actively participate in the improvement of the AD group as a center of excellence.
What will you do?
* Provide analytical support for the introduction of new products to the Cork site, including method development, validation/qualification, and transfer of methods to clients.
* Prepare and update analytical methods and specifications as appropriate.
* Prepare QC handover package, present training sessions to QC as agreed, and provide technical support during the method familiarization period.
* Provide bench and technical support to the validation campaign.
* Support external audits as appropriate.
* Support innovative ideas for new analytical methods as well as improvement and optimization of current methods.
* Complete analytical data collection, interpretation, and characterization of compounds while ensuring proper documentation of experimental data.
* Prepare and review change controls, study protocols, project status reports, final reports, and other internal documentation relevant to the role.
* Develop/expand scientific and technical knowledge by reading peer-reviewed scientific literature, attending scientific conferences, and via relevant training.
* Ensure the delivery of projects in the required timeframe and that the site’s technical, quality, and safety metrics are all achieved.
* Work with due care and attention, perform all quality, regulatory, and safety duties while acting in accordance with the Dignity at Work Policy, Code of Business Conduct and Ethics, and our values of Integrity, Intensity, Innovation, and Involvement.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
* Candidate should be pursuing a Master or PhD degree in Chemistry or Instrument Engineering, with a proven track record of critical and innovative thinking.
* Good interpersonal skills.
* Excellent technical writing skills and verbal communication.
* Ability to work with cross-functional teams with collaborative interpersonal skills.
