Teach Tearmainn provide a range of support services across County Kildare including 24-hour helpline, safe refuge accommodation, safe house accommodation, childrens support services, community outreach support, and court accompaniment. Teach Tearmainn has grown significantly in recent years, both our team and our services. Consequently, we are now seeking a Part-Time Human Resource Coordiantor to join our team. You will have an influential role at Teach Tearmainn covering a breadth and depth of responsibilities such as supporting effective leadership and organisational development for 24 staff, as well as managing and improving our HR processes. Summary of Role This role is intended to be a Part-Time Role, 3 days per week (22.5 hours per week) This role is being offered currently on a 12-Month Fixed Term Contract, which will be renewable subject to funding. The primary location for this role will be Naas, County Kildare, from time to time you may also be required to attend other locations. Hybrid Working can be discussed following successful completion of the Probationary Period. The Human Resources Coordinator will have responsibility for leading the organisations HR function for our staff members across the entire employment experience from recruiting top talent and induction, to training, development, and talent management, to supporting the systems and structures underpinning human resources. You will help Teach Tearmainn to attract and retain top talent and be a champion for modern employment practices. You will be a qualified HR professional, with a sound knowledge of current employment legislation. You will have demonstrable experience of working in flexible and hybrid working environments, with excellent communication and administration skills. Reporting directly to the CEO, and as a key part of our leadership team you will be working directly with other Senior Team to ensure Teach Tearmainns strategic plan implementation and a drive for continuous operational efficiencies. You will also be required to draft reports or presentations for presentation to the HR Committee and the Board. ROLE RESPONSIBLILTIES Strategic HR Leadership & Organisational Development Lead the ongoing development of our strategic plan, supporting the organisations ability to meet its objectives and strategic goals successfully. Support the organisation through periods of change, assisting in managing transitions (e.g., restructuring, talent management, succession planning). Collaborate on initiatives to enhance organisational effectiveness, culture, and employee engagement. Create programmes and initiatives that engage employees, promoting a customer-focused, values-based, respectful, and performance-driven culture, ensuring positive well-being for the whole team. Lead on relationship building and engagement with Union representatives and shop stewards as required. Drive operational efficiencies and effectiveness in HR workflows, documentation, and processes. Talent Management & Acquisition Lead on the talent acquisition strategy, ensuring the organisation engages top talent aligned with values, while motivating and retaining high-caliber team members. Assist in the recruitment process (e.g., candidate screening, interviews). Streamline, monitor, and develop the organisations induction and onboarding programme for new staff. Employee Life Cycle & HR Operations Assist with end-to-end employee life cycle processes. Produce weekly and monthly departmental KPIs, delivering HR-related KPIs to the Senior Leadership Team and making recommendations based on findings. Handle employee inquiries regarding HR policies/procedures. Manage & maintain employee records and data. Assist with payroll administration, including preparation for payroll and coordination with the finance department. Draft employee contracts and circulate memos. Audit existing staff contracts, identifying and recommending changes or improvements. Keep track of changes to terms and conditions, making updates as required. Ensure staff records, training, and probation tracking are maintained and up to date. Employee Relations & Performance Management Support managers by implementing performance management systems, providing feedback, and assisting in the creation of development plans for employees. Lead in grievance and disciplinary processes in partnership with senior leaders and the CEO. Be a mentor and coach to Coordinators, advising and guiding them on HR and performance issues. Compliance Own company people policies, recommending changes/updates in line with evolving legislation and best practice. Attend industry training and employment law updates, cascading learnings to the wider team. Stay up to date on HR issues and changes to employment law, ensuring policies, processes, and the Employee Handbook are updated accordingly. Generate HR metrics and reports to inform better data-driven decision-making and strategic reviews. Prepare reports and HR analytics/statistics as required. Review existing HR management tools and processes, advising on streamlining and updates as necessary. Learning & Development Develop learning materials and deliver practical training sessions in line with relevant legislation and development needs. Implement management training on key HR issues, such as hiring, managing performance, contracts management, and internal processes. Drive a learning culture of continuous development, engaging key stakeholders to develop an agile framework for learning and development, including personalised training and individual development pathways. Employee Engagement & Well-being Coordinate and promote well-being events, company on-site visits, employee fun days, and other activities to support employee engagement. Oversee communications, company newsletters, and memos. Ad Hoc Support Assist with HR projects and support other departmental projects as required. Undertake any other duties to support the CEO from time to time. Essential Criteria Qualification to degree level in Human Resources or related field Minimum 5 years post graduate experience in a HR role People-oriented and results driven with an ability to build and manage relationships. Strong verbal and written communications with a keen ability to influence, convey and distribute information across all levels of the organisation Experience with Human Resources metrics and systems Flexible attitude, and ability to manage multiple priorities and shifting demands. A high level of attention to detail and strong organisational skills Proactive and pragmatic with balanced and sound judgement. Responsive problem solver and solution focused. Strong people skills with the ability to build positive working relationships and drive accountability amongst the Management Team and within the wider business. Proven experience in advising on HR associated matters (grievance, disciplinary, performance management, absence, etc.) Full Driving licence and access to a form of transport to fulfil the role Must have detailed knowledge or Irish labour laws and legislation essential Bright HR or similar HR management systems. Microsoft Office Desirable Criteria Experience in the charities sector or in working with a social service organisation. Understanding of the domestic violence landscape and the concept of key working and family support services Experience working in a unionised workplace. Experience of data management and protection and knowledge of the GDPR in the HR context Experience of digitisation projects in Human Resources Ability to work in fast-paced environment within a team environment. Strong planning and organisational skills with a high standard of accuracy. Experience using Salesforce.
