Irelands Knowledge Centre for Carbon Climate and Community Action (IKC3) Business Development Manager Irelands Knowledge Centre for Carbon, Climate and Community Action (IKC3) is dedicated to advancing sustainability, climate action and community development across Ireland. Through collaboration, education, and capacity-building, IKC3 plays a key role in fostering knowledge and skills to drive sustainable development and climate resilience in communities and businesses alike. The consortium, led by Munster Technological University in collaboration with Trinity College Dublin and University College Dublin, involves an extensive network of partners, companies, enterprise clusters, community groups, local government, civic and social innovators. IKC3 team is taking a radical approach deploying a quintuple helix model of innovation to education developing scalable multi-university solutions for a flexible and personalised learning. This integrating state of the art pedagogies and learning pathways, including micro-credentials, summer schools, dual and collaborative learning, deep learning demonstrations and digitisation to foster the transition to a carbon neutral society and achievement of the Climate Action Plan. The Role: Business Development Manager IKC3 has developed a national collaborative multi-university digital sustainability skills platform. This platform is designed to provide a single point of access for all sustainability-focused education and training across all levels, in further and higher education, undergraduate to postgraduate encompassing micro-credentials, short programs and CPD. This platform integrates sustainability skills passports and AI led skill gaps analysis and program matching capabilities. The platform will support the closing of the sustainability skills gaps and to advance the skill and talent pipeline in Ireland to enable enterprise and society to adapt and transition to a decarbonised economy and sustainable living. Munster Technological University is recruiting for a Business Development Manager to join the team to lead on roll out of the platform, to on-board Universities, students and employers as users in the platform and key members of the IKC3 community. This will involve extensive outreach and engagement, including management and upscaling of the Sustainability Professionals Network. The Business Development Manager will also contribute significantly to the development of the IKC3 network, collaborating and complementing the ecosystem development activities in engaging with stakeholder groups, including researchers, industry, public agencies and NGOs to share the activities, results and impacts of the IKC3 project towards the goal of delivering a national response to skills needs for sustainability. Input and involvement in the innovation activities across the project on micro-courses, micro-credentials and pedagogies is expected. In addition, participation in workshops and other teaching and learning developments are also a key part of this role. The IKC3 Business Development Manager will play a leading and pivotal role in advancing the existing skills platform dedicated to sustainability skills. The core duties and responsibilities will include: Duties and Responsibilities: Strategic development and expansion of the platform:Assess and understand the current status of the platform; develop and implement growth strategies; engage with all stakeholders; foster partnerships and collaborations. Lead the IKC3 sustainable skills platform work stream to develop and deliver a comprehensive listing of all sustainability skills courses in the state. Increase public sector engagement and skills capacity for sustainability for SMEs including regenerative tourism for SMEs. Develop a mainstreaming plan for the project post additional funding. Platform content and skill integration: Ensure inclusivity of all sustainability skills; coordinate the development of content; ensure platform accessibility. Data collection, analysis and reporting: Monitor platform usage and feedback; provide reports and updates. Identify and follow-up on new business opportunities in the sector. Establish and develop relationships with all HE providers. Identify future business opportunities for development of the platform. Ecosystem development:Lead the development of the IKC3 stakeholder network across all HE providers in the state, including development of pathways to enable networks to connect, collaborate and critically reflect. Project management:Planning and monitoring of project tasks, deliverables and milestones, liaising with partners to coordinate report writing. It would be a distinct advantage to applicants to be able to deliver teaching on a range of sustainability modules, including climate action, carbon management and sustainability practices and to develop and update course content, ensuring alignment with emerging trends and best practices in sustainability. Applicants must have: Minimum of 3 years experience in a business development manager role and project management experience. Experience in engaging with HEIs and Industry Honours degree or postgraduate degree in a related area. Demonstrated experience in project management of large-scale collaborative projects. Excellent interpersonal, presentation and facilitation skills. Applicants should have demonstrable experience of the following expertise: Sustainability, carbon and climate knowledge and experience. Event organisation in both physical and virtual mediums. Experience in creation of dissemination and communication plan and organisational skills to manage and monitoring.
