The Role: Our client is looking for a VDI support administrator to manage the environment, provision resources based on business requirements and provide guidance and support to level 1 and level 2 engineers as well as end-users. The candidate will collaborate with various teams within the organization to deploy new solutions and troubleshoot or resolve underlying issues. Responsibilities: Core responsibilities include (but not limited) to the following: 1.Infrastructure Management: Manage multi-user and single-user session machine catalogs for different user groups Install and configure VDI software on servers Deploy and virtualize applications Test and validate VDI functionality before deployment Monitor VDI server performance and resource utilization Troubleshoot connectivity issues related to virtual desktops and engage external vendors for swift resolution Manage and troubleshoot user profiles Migrate VDI workloads and upgrade master images used for catalogues Generate scripts and templates for automatic provisioning of resources 2.Virtual Desktop Image Management: Creating and maintaining standardized virtual desktop images (gold images) Updating and patching virtual desktop images with latest security updates Managing different virtual desktop templates and content libraries for various user groups and ensure that these templates/images are synchronized with external sites Collaborate with stakeholders to assess VDI needs and improvements to image 3.User Access Control: Provisioning and managing user access for virtual desktops and applications Access and permissions control Environment lockdown through policies User profile management and validating profiles are in sync between sites 4.Security Management: Implementing security policies and procedures for the VDI environment Monitoring for security threats and vulnerabilities Vulnerability patch management of master images and static pools, ensuring compliance with security standards Managing user access controls and data encryption Manage policies within the Citrix DaaS 5.Troubleshoot and Support: Works in tickets system to solve escalated issues Diagnosing and resolving issues related to virtual desktop access and performance Providing technical support to end-users and providing support for Tier 3 or Tier 2 groups 6.Documentation and Reporting: Ability to compile network diagrams and flow charts Generating reports on VDI performance and usage metrics Maintaining detailed documentation of VDI configuration and troubleshooting procedures Manage and Create KB (Knowledge Base) articles used by Tier 1, Tier 2 Provides documentation, processes and technical training to Tier 1, Tier 2 admins 7.Change Management: Submitting Change Management request for deployment of changes on the environment. Experience: The ideal candidate would possess the following: Minimum seven years of recent experience in VDI management Management of multi-user and single-user session machine catalogs for different user groups Management and troubleshooting of user profiles Migration of VDI workloads and upgrading master images used for catalogs Vulnerability patch management of master images and static pools, ensuring compliance with security standards Ability to support various database platforms and learn new technologies as needed Ability to compile network diagrams and flow charts Demonstrated hands-on experience of progressive experience in desktop or server engineering Experience with cloud infrastructure resource management Experience with cloud security best practices Skills: In addition to the knowledge and hands-on experience with managing and configuring VMware and Citrix VDI environments, the position requires hands-on experience in the following areas as they relate to VDI platform management: Azure Cloud Infrastructure (firewalls, networking, policies) PowerShell scripting Group Policy Objects Windows (10, 11) OS and Windows Servers OS 2019 and 2022 Imaging process (SCCM/Intune) Virtualization platforms (VMWare, Hyper-V) Software distribution platform (SCCM) Strong understanding of networking concepts and protocols Education: Advanced university degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or related field of study or equivalent, plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience; or, Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field of study plus a minimum of 7 years of relevant professional experience is required If you are interested in this role or would like to discuss it further, please call Nidhi at or email.
