Aloft Dublin City is Dublin’s most unique style of hotel. We are delighted to open applications for a Guest Relations Assistant / Valet Driver. The property comprises of 202 bedrooms with panoramic views of the entire city on the 7th floor. Objective of the Role
Reporting to the Departmental & Duty Managers, the Guest Relations Assistant / Valet will ensure that all guests receive a warm, memorable and personalised welcome. They will then be responsible for the parking of guest cars in the appointed hotel parking area and ensuring that guest needs are anticipated and actioned.
Job Requirements
1. Greet guests warmly and welcome them to hotel.
2. Determine reason for being at hotel after welcoming the guest.
3. Concierge related duties.
4. Assist guests with any requests e.g. information, making bookings, and directions.
5. To carry out general Porter duties.
6. Ensure all access to the hotel is secure as required by hotel policy and procedure.
7. Valet parking service is provided in a warm, welcoming and efficient manner.
8. Valet parking attendants use guest's name as written on ticket, inquires if the guest needs directions, and invites the guest to return.
9. Open the vehicle doors (ladies first).
10. If guest is arriving by taxi, allow guest to complete transaction with driver before opening door.
11. Provide guest with a valet ticket (if arriving by self-driven car).
12. Inform guest of the car retrieval process.
13. Inform guest of the charge if not printed on the valet ticket.
14. Offer luggage assistance.
15. Ask/confirm all luggage and personal items (e.g. phone, computer, purse) have been removed from vehicle. Visual confirmation is acceptable (e.g. looking in back seat/trunk).
The ideal Guest Relations / Valet Attendant will have:
1. MUST have a full clean driver’s licence. This is essential and candidates without a clean licence will not be eligible for the job.
2. Immaculate personal presentation.
3. Have a pleasant and professional manner.
4. At least one year’s experience is beneficial but full training will be provided.
5. Be energetic, enthusiastic and be able to work under pressure in a very busy environment and to deadlines.
6. Enjoy working as a team and on own initiative.
7. Be trustworthy, hard working.
8. Good communications skills with a good command of the English language, both written and spoken.
9. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to anticipate guest needs.
10. All applicants must hold papers confirming the right to work in Ireland.
