Responsibilities:
* Operational Excellence: Oversee all logistics and distribution activities, ensuring seamless day-to-day operations.
* Manage contractor relationships to achieve financial, logistical, and customer satisfaction targets.
* Optimise fleet performance, ensuring vehicles meet operational demands while remaining cost-effective.
* Team Leadership: Lead, inspire, and develop transport teams, fostering a positive and high-performing work environment.
* Ensure all employees are trained to the highest standards and fully compliant with health and safety regulations.
* Compliance and Risk Management: Guarantee compliance with RSA and other relevant transport and safety regulations.
* Develop risk management strategies to ensure business continuity and mitigate operational risks.
* Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to align transport operations with broader company goals.
* Coordinate with customer service teams to ensure timely and accurate deliveries within KPIs.
* Performance Management: Analyse and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), using data to implement continuous improvement initiatives.
* Report on logistics performance to business owner, offering solutions for challenges and areas for growth.
Requirements:
* Proven experience in a senior transport management role or General Manager role, preferably within a logistics or distribution setting.
* A third-level qualification in transport management, supply chain, business administration, or a related field is desired.
* Strong IT capabilities, including proficiency in ERP systems and logistics software.
* Exceptional leadership and team-building skills.
* Outstanding communication, organisational, and time-management abilities.
* A strategic mindset coupled with the ability to manage hands-on, fast-paced operations.
