Job Description:
A Manufacturing Engineering Technician is required by CareerWise Recruitment for our Cork based MN electronics manufacturing client. This is a permanent role. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the equipment and processes required to produce high reliability electronic circuit card and system assemblies.
THE ROLE
1. Responsible for sustaining the day-to-day maintenance of the SMT, PTH and Systems assembly equipment and manufacturing process procedures within the electronics manufacturing facility.
2. Yield improvement: Perform monitoring of SMT, PTH & System assembly build quality, identify and resolve quality yield issues as required.
3. Ensure equipment is maintained in safe working order, preventative maintenance schedules are adhered to and machine uptime is maximised across: SMT, PTH, Prep Equipment, Conformal Coating Equipment, Packaging Equipment, Torque Driver Equipment, Laser Marking Equipment, Aqueous Cleaning Equipment & Inspection Equipment.
4. Working with Manufacturing, Product and Design Engineers on New Product Introductions (NPI) in relation to the timely ordering of stencils, jigs, fixtures and creating of equipment programs for SMT, PTH and Inspection equipment.
5. Program and debug of computer controlled equipment.
6. Select, order and maintain machine spares in relation to equipment needs.
7. Work with Manufacturing Engineering Team lead and engineers on lean product flows, process improvements, new equipment installation and additive manufacturing.
8. Responsible for housekeeping of relevant work areas and spares storage areas.
9. Provide training to other technicians and operators as required.
10. Adhere to all company health and safety rules, regulations and risk assessments while on site.
11. Ability to travel to support new equipment selection.
12. Flexible to perform additional duties as requested.
13. Operate with a Lean mind-set - identifying and minimising waste in all processes and from the greater Value Stream.
REQUIREMENTS
1. Greater than 2 years in a certified Electronics Manufacturing environment, applying Lean principles, contributing to improvement projects. Qualified trades personnel with industrial experience will also be considered.
2. Level 6 qualification in Electronics, Mechanical / Automation Electrical, Technology, Mechatronics or similar.
3. The successful candidate will be a problem solver, able to work on their own initiative with little supervision, in a manufacturing environment of rapidly changing priorities and keep production moving in the short term while having a long term focus on Lean and Continuous Improvement.
4. This role requires a high degree of flexibility in terms of working problems to resolution while having the interpersonal skills to work closely with others. Business demand may require overtime and/or shift at various times.
