Irish Lights is a statutory maritime all-island organisation, whose history began over 200 years ago, delivering an essential 24/7 safety and navigation service around the coast of Ireland, protecting the marine environment, and supporting the marine industry and coastal communities.

We are a public body, funded through the General Lighthouse Fund with reporting relationships to the Irish Department of Transport (DoT) and the UK Department for Transport (DfT). In line with our mission to be a leading and innovative provider of reliable, efficient and cost-effective navigation and maritime services for the safety of all, we work closely with sister organisations Trinity House and the Northern Lighthouse Board in the UK to implement a co-ordinated approach to governance and risk management across the diverse range of our activities.
Job Title: Governance and Compliance Manager
We wish to appoint a Governance and Compliance Manager to join the Senior Management Team. Based at the Headquarters in Dun Laoghaire, the successful candidate will be key to ensuring that our governance, compliance and risk processes continue to operate at the highest standards of practice and ethics across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
* Corporate Governance and Compliance
* Corporate Risk Management
* Provision of legal support in conjunction with external advisors
* Support the organisation to deliver on its strategy
Requirements
Candidates must be professionally qualified with a postgraduate qualification (or equivalent) in corporate governance, legal or risk related discipline or have extensive relevant experience covering all aspects and requirements of the role. Ideally, the candidates will have experience in a public sector organisation working with CEO and a Board of non-executive members.
