The Data Centre Security Lead is responsible for overseeing the security operations of the Echelon facilities, ensuring the protection of physical and information assets. This role involves developing and implementing security policies, managing security personnel, and coordinating with other departments to maintain a secure environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Security Management:
* Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive security policies and procedures in alignment with company and regulatory requirements to protect the data centre's physical and information assets.
* Conduct regular risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential threats.
* Physical Security:
* Oversee the implementation and maintenance of physical security measures, such as surveillance systems, access control and intrusion detection systems.
* Manage supplier relationships for the installation and maintenance of physical security equipment.
* Manage on-site security personnel and third-party security providers to ensure effective coverage and response.
1. Team Management:
* Lead and manage the security team, including hiring, training, and performance evaluation.
* Promote a culture that encourages compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
2. Access Control:
* Manage access control systems to ensure only authorised personnel have access to sensitive areas.
* Regularly review access logs for compliance and accuracy.
* Ensure adherence to identity verification and visitor management processes.
* Develop and maintain incident response plans for security events and emergencies.
* Lead investigations into security incidents and provide detailed reports to senior management.
* Coordinate with police and other external bodies as necessary.
3. Compliance:
* Ensure compliance with all relevant security regulations and standards such as ISO/IEC 27001, PCI DSS and data protection laws.
* Conduct regular security checks for compliance.
* Participate in internal and external audits.
* Work closely with IT, facilities, and other departments to ensure a coordinated approach to information and physical security controls.
4. Reporting:
* Prepare and present regular security reports to senior management, highlighting key issues and recommendations.
Qualifications:
1. Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in security management, Information Technology, or a related field.
2. Professional Experience: At least 5 years of experience in security management, preferably within a data centre or critical infrastructure environment.
3. Certifications: Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CPP are highly desirable.
