Job Title: Payroll Specialist
A permanent role has become available for an experienced Payroll Specialist to join our client's team in Parkwest, Dublin 12.
About the Role:
This is a challenging opportunity for someone with a minimum of 3 years' experience in payroll processing. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Irish payroll legislation and tax regulations.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the end-to-end payroll process, including processing a monthly payroll for 500 employees. Experience using Sage Micro pay and Softworks would be highly advantageous.
This role is initially office-based, but hybrid working arrangements can be discussed after the initial probation period.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
* Ensure compliance with relevant tax laws, pension contributions, BIK, and other statutory obligations.
* Process all payroll-related changes, including new hires, terminations, promotions, salary adjustments, and overtime.
* Maintain and update employee records, ensuring that all payroll data is correct and up to date.
* Prepare and submit statutory returns, such as P30, P35, P60, and P45, in compliance with Revenue requirements.
* Respond to employee payroll queries, providing clear explanations and resolving issues promptly.
* Liaise with HR and Finance teams to ensure smooth integration of payroll data with other systems.
* Ensure all payroll deductions, including pensions and benefits, are processed correctly.
* Conduct payroll audits, identifying and rectifying discrepancies or errors.
* Assist with year-end reporting and ensure that employees receive accurate payslips and annual statements.
Requirements:
* IPASS Accreditation or similar would be an advantage but not essential for this role.
* Proven experience (minimum 3 years) in payroll processing, with a strong understanding of Irish payroll legislation and tax regulations.
* Familiarity with pension schemes and benefits administration.
* Post-graduate or additional qualifications in HR or finance is a plus.
* Experience managing payroll for a large workforce.
* Excellent attention to detail and accuracy, with strong organisational skills.
* Strong communication skills, with the ability to deal with queries from employees in a professional and clear manner.
* A high degree of integrity and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
* Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Knowledge of payroll software and systems; experience with Irish payroll systems (e.g., Thesaurus, Sage, or similar) is a plus.
