About the Role
This newly created role reports to the Finance Director – Reconciliation and Fixed Asset. The Senior Accountant – Fixed Asset & Leasing will be a key role in the controllership function related to Fixed Assets and Leasing across the Planet Group. You will be liaising with various departments to ensure that information is available in a timely manner to support adjustments required before Group deadlines.
Prepare monthly reconciliations and assist in preparation of reports and ongoing projects as well as ad hoc requests. It is essential that the individual provides a consistent high level of service in line with our company policies and procedures reflecting our corporate values and behaviours. You will be joining a dynamic team striving for continuous improvement and questioning the norm.
What You Will Do
* Responsible for Fixed Asset & Leasing accounting and reconciliation for the group.
* Compiles financial information to review and/or prepare journal entries, in an accurate and timely manner.
* Interprets the meaning of financial information and makes accounting adjustments accordingly.
* Compiles financial information to prepare journal entries accurately, completely and timely.
* Assists in preparing supporting schedules & liaising with external auditors.
* Engagement with auditors to support on-going audit requirements.
* Assists with ad-hoc projects as they arise.
* Report on month-end balance sheet reconciliations in a timely manner. Investigate and escalate any differences to the next escalation point.
* Preparation of financial reports.
* Managing 3rd Party relationships effectively.
* Assisting the VP of Finance with ad hoc finance projects and ensuring deadlines are adhered to.
* Cooperate with other departments (e.g. Admin and Sales) to ensure the processes are aligned.
Who You Are
Knowledge & Experience
* Qualified Accountant with 2+ years industry experience.
* IFRS 16 experience a distinct advantage.
* Experience in Workday Financial an advantage.
* Strong accounting skills are essential.
* In-depth knowledge of accounting principles.
* Proficient computer skills; experience with Workday Financial Management a plus.
* Excellent analytical and abstract reasoning skills.
* Ability to resolve issues and propose solutions to issues that arise on a day-to-day basis.
* Credit Card Industry, Processing/Acquiring Bank or ISO accounting experience a plus.
* Ability to focus on multiple tasks, while meeting all internal and public company deadlines.
* Excellent IT skills including Windows, PowerPoint, Word and Excel skills, which are a key requirement and may be tested at interview stage.
* Proven team working skills.
