Our Presence in Ireland

Abbott Ireland Diabetes Care Division
The Abbott Diabetes Care division based in Donegal Town manufactures FreeStyle blood glucose test strips and FreeStyle Sensors for use in diabetes management. Among our leading brands are the FreeStyle Precision, FreeStyle Lite and FreeStyle Libre system.
Purpose of the Job
This is an exciting hybrid role combining the duties of a Process Operator Team Lead and an Equipment Engineer ensuring the safe delivery of medical device products to our customers.
Key Responsibilities
* Problem solving of plant and manufacturing equipment to achieve product quality and production schedule goals.
* Lead a team of Operators to success maintaining a positive culture.
* Ensure that productivity, quality and cost objectives are achieved.
* Knowledge of PLCs, Pneumatics, sensor circuits, and Servo Motors is advantageous.
* Performing Planned and Unplanned Maintenance on Manufacturing Equipment.
* Ensure conformance with all relevant Policies and Procedures.
* Contribute to the creation of Work Instructions and Operations Procedures to maintain compliance.
* Completion of Performance Excellence Assessments and Development Plans to promote Continuous Improvement.
* Contribute to Exception Reports that pertain to the Operations department.
* Ensure the department conducts its business in a manner designed to be protective of human health, safety, and the environment.
* Validation of new processes and development of technical documentation for areas of responsibility.
* Participation in and management of capital projects from inception to completion.
Education and Competencies
We are looking for individuals with:
* Third level qualification in Engineering/Manufacturing/Science or trade certificate in an Engineering discipline.
* 3+ years' experience in a similar environment preferred. Supervisory experience preferred.
