Clinical Nurse Manager 2 (CNM 2) - Urology/Gynaecology Theatre
The Clinical Nurse Manager 2 (CNM 2) plays a pivotal role in service planning, coordinating, and managing activity and resources within the clinical area.
Main Responsibilities:
* Quality Assurance: Ensure high standards of care are maintained in the urology theatre.
* Resource Management: Efficiently manage theatre resources, including staff, equipment, and consumables.
* Staffing and Staff Development: Lead, manage, and support theatre nursing teams, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver high-quality patient care.
* Practice Development: Foster a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging innovation and best practices in perioperative nursing care.
* Facilitating Communication: Ensure seamless communication between multidisciplinary teams, including consultants, anaesthetists, and ward teams.
* Professional/Clinical Leadership: Demonstrate strong leadership and management skills, inspiring and motivating team members to achieve excellence.
Essential Criteria:
* Candidate must be registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland's active register for which the application is being made.
* Have a minimum five years post-registration nursing experience, including three years' clinical experience in the specialist area (Urology and Gynaecology).
* Possess a Higher Diploma in Theatre Nursing.
* Possess a Management qualification.

* Clinical Expertise: Demonstrated knowledge and experience in urological and gynaecological surgical procedures, including familiarity with specialised equipment.
* Leadership & Team Management: Experience in leading, managing, and supporting theatre nursing teams in a high-pressure environment.
* Theatre & Patient Safety Standards: Strong knowledge of perioperative nursing care, infection control protocols, and theatre safety guidelines.
* Staff Development & Education: Experience in mentoring, training, and developing staff in urology theatre nursing.
* Operational & Resource Management: Experience in theatre scheduling, rostering, and ensuring the efficient use of theatre resources.
* Quality Improvement & Risk Management: Proven ability to lead quality improvement initiatives within the urology theatre.
* Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Ability to work closely with consultant urologists, anaesthetists, and other healthcare professionals.
* Continuous Professional Development: Willingness to engage in ongoing education, training, and research in urology nursing and perioperative care.
