We’re working with a global consultancy on their recruitment for a Manager of Construction to join their team in Dublin based out of their office. Travel to site as required. Our client operates across a wide range of business sectors such as Pharmaceutical and Semi Conductors.

Responsibilities
8. Direct construction project operations both in the Home Office (HO) and field within assigned responsibilities.
9. Coordinate with the Manager of Construction Europe to deliver effective construction services across the wider Life Sciences Group.
10. Management of Construction Proposals and input to Design/Procurement proposals within assigned responsibilities.
11. Ensure that the Company’s Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality policy is implemented on projects within assigned responsibilities and co-ordinate with regional Health and Safety
12. Manager on continuous improvements.
13. Participate in the development of procedures and techniques for Construction Management, Construction Safety, Project Controls and QA/QC.
14. Participate in the development and roll-out of Lean Construction practices in conjunction with the Productivity and Performance Manager
15. Participate in Corporate and outside industry committees and bodies as directed by the Operations Manager.
16. Assist with the development of the long-term business strategy, reflective of business trends, in conjunction with the Operations Manager and Manager of Construction Europe, to ensure that the Construction Group is providing an effective and efficient service.
17. Determine, with the Project Manager, the assignment of all construction and non-construction personnel to projects in a timely manner, ensuring relevant skills requirements and development needs are fully considered.
18. Ensure that the overall Construction execution strategies and procedures are implemented across all projects and that they are regularly reviewed and updated.
19. Liaise, communicate and operate with other Regional Managers reporting to the Operations Manager ·
20. Liaise with Project Managers to ensure those construction execution strategies are developed and implemented in line with Project Execution strategies.
21. Direct, guide and co-ordinate, Home Office Construction Leads and Resident Construction Managers in the discharging of their duties thus ensure effective construction execution.
22. Ensure that Construction operations are carried out in accordance with the Company’s Health, Safety and Environmental Policy.
23. Ensure that adequate numbers and categories of construction personnel are available commensurate with workload and policy. Also, that they are within approved budgets. This to be in conjunction with Project Managers and Operations Manager.
24. Ensure that assigned personnel, for whom responsible, undertake all specified activities, as required, to meet the needs of the Projects.
25. Review, on an ongoing basis, the Construction Manpower Projection Plan on Deltek
26. Ensure that construction man-hour liquidations are managed effectively against budgets for all projects within assigned responsibilities.
27. Conduct appraisal interviews, for staff for whom responsible, in conjunction with Resident Construction Managers and Operations Managers.
28. Ensure compliance with Company Procedures and Work Practices pertinent to Construction activities · Carry out special assignments on the instruction of the Operations Manager
Requirements
29. Relevant degree in construction or engineering
30. 20+ years’ experience working in the construction industry
31. Experience in the pharmaceutical industry essential
32. Experience in managing key stakeholder relationships including client management, supplier negotiations, staff management and supply chain planning
33. Excellent communication skills, people skills and experience preparing and reporting on key project information
34. Experience as a Construction Manager on pharma projects in excess of €100m
