Job Title: Assistant Director Of Nursing
Rathborne Nursing Home is a purpose-built 5-star nursing home located in a countryside setting, close to Castleknock, Navan Rd, Blanchardstown, and Dublin 15 area of Dublin city, just 3 minutes from the Phoenix Park.
The nursing home features 120 single bedrooms, each with an en-suite bathroom facility. The exceptional modern building has its own inner courtyards and secure landscaped gardens on a 6-acre site, designed to meet the needs of our residents.
We also offer a Dementia-specific residence.
Job Summary
This is a full-time position for 6 months as a Fixed-Term contract. As an Assistant Director Of Nursing, you will be responsible for ensuring a high standard of care across all units, daily care, and activities in accordance with best practice and available resources.
Main Responsibilities
1. Assist the Director of Nursing in the overall operations and day-to-day running of the home.
2. Efficiently manage resources, assign work, and monitor the quality of work performance of staff.
3. In the absence of the Director of Nursing, assume the role of Person in Charge.
Qualifications
* Must be registered with An Bord Altranais.
* Must have at least five years of post-registration experience, including two years at management level in residential care settings.
* Knowledge of relevant legislation and HIQA Standards for Residential Care Settings.
* Evidence of continuous professional development.
Duties
1. Aid the Director of Nursing in promoting an organisational culture that incorporates person-centred care principles.
2. Maintain residents' independence and avoid unnecessary hospitalisation by liaising with clients and their families as required.
3. Collaborate with the Director of Nursing to manage resources efficiently and effectively, ensuring continuous quality improvement.
4. SUPervise the daily management of the home, undertake nursing rounds, facilitate team building and motivation.
5. Ensure policies, procedures, and standards are developed, revised, and implemented in line with legislative requirements and HIQA National Standards.

* Clinical Governance: Assume the role of Person in Charge in the absence of the Director of Nursing.
* Assist in developing and evaluating quality initiatives and clinical audits.
* Monitor and investigate complaints, untoward clinical incidents, and near misses.
* Encourage and facilitate staff innovation in nursing practice.
