Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Process Engineer (Automation & Packaging) to join our team in Dublin. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing industry-compliant automated assembly and packaging solutions.
The successful candidate will lead or act as a subject matter expert process mechanical engineer, staying updated on the latest trends and emerging technologies in the field. You will also be responsible for project leadership, including establishing technical scope, priorities, and execution sequences, as well as aligning the technical scope with team member skill sets.
Your responsibilities will include analyzing stakeholder needs, identifying and negotiating Solution Architecture and Functional elements, conducting and documenting engineering reviews, engaging and monitoring procurement, fabrication, assembly, and solution integration activities, and participating in verification activities.
You will also conduct Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), and Control Plans, engage suppliers as active stakeholders, and advise and consult on product design impact for manufacturing, assembly, and packaging.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead or act as a subject matter expert process mechanical engineer.
2. Stay updated on process mechanical engineering trends and emerging technologies.
3. Delivery: Design, engineering, implementation, and verification of industry-compliant automated assembly and packaging solutions.
4. Project Leadership: Establish project technical scope, priorities, and execution sequences; align the technical scope with team member skill sets.
5. Design: Analyze stakeholder needs; identify, negotiate, prioritize, and quantify Solution Architecture and Functional elements.
6. Engineering: Identify, negotiate, prioritize, and quantify mechanical and electrical packages and components.
7. Reviews: Conduct and document engineering reviews with the team, supplier(s), and acquirer(s).
8. Implementation: Engage and monitor the procurement, fabrication, assembly, and solution integration activities and processes.
9. Verification: Participate in the execution and review of verification activities.
10. Risk Management: Conduct, document, review, and update Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), and Control Plans.
11. Technical Expertise and Collaboration: Engage, inform, advise, and consult with acquirer, supplier, and solution delivery teams.
12. Advocacy: Engage suppliers as active stakeholders on the acquirer's (client) behalf.
13. Product Design Collaboration: Advise and consult on product design impact for manufacturing, assembly, and packaging.
Requirements:
1. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
2. Experience in Injection Moulding
3. 2-5 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant role.
4. Knowledge of process mechanical engineering principles and practices.
5. Proficient knowledge of automated assembly, mechanical process sequential operations design, power (electrical and pneumatic) distribution, mechanical component fabrication, machining, and tolerance verification.
6. Skills in critical thinking / analytical reasoning.
7. Proficient skills in project management.
8. Proficient in overseeing small- and medium-scale projects.
9. Ability to perform process engineering skills independently.
10. Work from home with travel expected to European client facilities as required.
11. Up to 25% international travel.
