What you’ll Do:
As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will take on a pivotal role within the Platform team, actively contributing to and shaping our infrastructure and automation strategies. You will work closely with Software Development, QA, and Product teams to ensure the seamless delivery of high-quality, secure, and scalable solutions. Your expertise in cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes orchestration, and automation will be essential in driving operational excellence and efficiency.
In this role, you will be responsible for designing and maintaining a resilient cloud environment, implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) best practices, and optimizing CI/CD pipelines. You will actively participate in brainstorming sessions, providing valuable insights to enhance our technology stack and streamline software delivery. This is a hands-on position where your contributions will have a direct impact on system reliability, performance, and developer productivity.
Key Responsibilities:
* Designing, building, and maintaining scalable, secure, and resilient infrastructure and operations.
* Managing and optimizing Kubernetes clusters, including networking, security, and performance tuning.
* Automating cloud infrastructure provisioning and configuration using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Helm.
* Implementing CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions to enable automated builds, testing, and deployments.
* Writing and maintaining Python and Bash scripts for automation and infrastructure management.
* Ensuring best practices in cloud security, compliance, and governance for AWS environments.
* Driving platform engineering initiatives and building Platform as a Product to support development teams.
* Optimizing cloud costs, ensuring efficient resource utilization.
* Developing monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions to ensure high availability and performance.
* Collaborating closely with Product, QA, and Software Development teams to drive delivery and operational excellence.
* Advocating and implementing DevOps best practices, fostering a culture of automation and continuous improvement.
* Mentoring and coaching engineers, fostering a high-performance and collaborative team environment.
* Analysing system performance and proactively identifying areas for improvement and optimization.
* Taking ownership of the entire software delivery lifecycle, from infrastructure planning to deployment and support.
* Ensuring software reusability and maintainability through well-structured architecture and best practices.
* Taking ownership of assigned projects and leading them to completion.
* Implement and enforce best practices in cloud security, compliance, and governance.
* Drive technical innovation, introducing new tools and frameworks to improve efficiency.
* Participate and lead architectural discussions, design reviews, and implementation strategies for cloud infrastructure or CI/CD.
The Ideal candidate will have:
* Expertise in DevOps roles and a strong understanding of DevOps best practices in AWS environments.
* Strong experience designing scalable, secure, and resilient infrastructure and operations.
* Expertise in Kubernetes, including cluster management, networking, and security.
* Hands-on experience with AWS services, including IAM, EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, and VPC.
* Strong proficiency in Python for automation and infrastructure management.
* Experience with GitHub Actions for CI/CD pipelines and workflow automation.
* Expertise in Bash scripting for system automation.
* Deep understanding of Microservices architecture and deployments.
* Experience with Kubernetes Operators.
* Strong knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, Helm, Pulumi or Crossplane.
* Expertise in cloud security best practices and compliance requirements.
* Experience in cloud cost optimization.
* Hands-on experience implementing and operating monitoring and logging solutions.
* Understanding of software security principles and designing robust, fault-tolerant systems.
* Strong experience in performance optimization and scalability best practices.
* Platform Engineering mindset with experience in building and maintaining Platform as a Product.
* Understanding the need for software reusability and maintainability.
* Strong customer, product, and design focus.
* Superior analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities.
* Ability to work under pressure on own initiative, being transparent about abilities, mistakes, and difficulties faced.
* Attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy.
* Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team.
* Drive to continuously improve products.
* Dedicated self-starter with proven ability to efficiently and professionally work on multiple projects to tight deadlines.

Qualifications Required:
* Experience working in international/multi-site environments.
* Experience working in a regulated industry (advantageous).
* Experience managing or leading technical teams (advantageous).
* Experience working in early-stage technology companies.
* 5+ years of experience across software development or DevOps environments.
* Undergraduate or Postgraduate degree in an appropriate field (Engineering, Computer Science, Science).
Location and Travel:
* Hybrid role - Dublin City Centre, Ireland, currently this is set to 2 days per week onsite.
* Our Dublin City Centre offices are located less than 3 mins from Pearse St Dart Station and beside the Alex Hotel, making it accessible for all major transport.
* We also offer flexible start/end times, allowing your schedule to suit your lifestyle.
* Note: Regrettably we cannot offer work permit sponsorship for this role. To be considered, you must currently be based in Ireland and already hold the necessary legal permissions to work here.
