About the role An exciting opportunity has opened up to join Davy as a Business Manager to the Chief Risk & Regulatory Officer (CRRO) on a 14month fixed term contract. As Business Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the CRRO who is responsible for providing independent oversight over Davy’s risk profile by ensuring that the appropriate structures, systems, policies and controls are in place to provide effective management of risk. The CRRO is responsible for risk, compliance, client asset oversight and Davy’s legal department. The Business Manager helps the CRRO in ensuring a cohesive view across the team. In the role, the successful candidate will: Deliver on Risk Strategy Work with the CRRO and Davy Risk Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to undertake strategic reviews and implementation of critical initiatives. Co-ordinate and facilitate all governance and reporting in line with strategic priorities e.g. papers to Risk Committees, CEO updates, inputs to Bank of Ireland (BOI) Group Risk papers. Build a deep understanding of the drivers of business performance, keep current with the competitive landscape, and develop strong working relationships throughout Davy and the BOI Group. Support key cross-business priorities, initiatives and regulatory requests. Contribute to the overall leadership of Davy Risk by driving continuous improvement of management processes. Ensure that Davy Risk collaborates productively with other divisions on all cost, ICAAP and strategic matters. Oversee management of Davy Risk budget. Deliver on Risk Management Excellence Support governance in relation to Davy Risk owned processes. Ensure actions are followed up by process owners. Drive plans for improvement in the Control Environment including outstanding issues, audits, RMPs etc. Oversee and co-ordinate the management of risk governance. Lead the risk governance arrangements, preparation and follow up on actions for the key Risk Committees and the SLT meetings. RequirementsAbout you We are looking for somebody who has the following background and skills: Behaviours/Leadership Skills Promoting an understanding of Davy Risk activities, capabilities and strategy. Maximise the Function’s effectiveness via strong relationships with SLT and key partners. Champion best in class risk management practices and act as reference point for staff in Davy Risk. Qualifications and Experience Third level degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience. Significant planning, strategy or operations experience in a similar internal management/strategy consulting role. Strong project and process leadership skills; results focused, with high levels of energy, ability to work autonomously and lead a broad range of initiatives simultaneously. Ability to influence and build relationships in a heavily networked environment, at levels varying from mid-management up to the C-suite. Pro-active with proven track record of handling diverse and conflicting priorities while delivering at pace in an agile way. Ability to solve unstructured problems and build strategic frameworks and models to provide insights. A strong desire to learn and develop at an accelerated rate in a fast-paced environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with experience presenting high priority messages to executives and executive committees.
