Based in Athy, County Kildare, we are seeking a dedicated and experienced professional to take on the role of Bar and Café Service Manager aboard our tour boat. This is a unique opportunity to combine hospitality expertise with the charm of operating on the River Barrow. With tours running daily, the ideal candidate will be responsible for the operation of our onboard bar and café service.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage the daily operations of the bar and café aboard the tour boat.
2. Prepare and serve high-quality alcoholic beverages, coffees, and teas; ensuring the highest standards of presentation and taste.
3. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including food safety standards, sanitation practices, and workplace safety protocols.
4. Conduct regular inspections to maintain a safe and hygienic environment.
Customer Experience:
1. Foster a welcoming and professional environment for passengers.
2. Handle customer feedback professionally to ensure high levels of satisfaction.
Marketing:
1. Assist in implementing strategies to grow the customer/passenger base.
2. Enhance the overall tour boat experience through innovative ideas and promotions.
Inventory and Budget Management:
1. Manage inventory levels, place orders with suppliers, and minimize waste while ensuring product availability.
2. Oversee the bar/café budget, keep accurate financial records, and prepare monthly reports.
3. Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to track business performance and recommend improvements as necessary.
Team Collaboration:
1. Work collaboratively with other staff members to ensure seamless boat operations.
2. Perform light cleaning duties and assist with other boat operation duties as needed.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. A qualification in hospitality management, business administration, or a related field is preferred, but not essential.
2. At least 3 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably in a café or bar environment.
3. Skilled in preparing alcoholic drinks to a high standard.
4. Expertise in coffee preparation and knowledge of various brewing techniques.
5. Experience with budget management, financial reporting, and basic accounting practices.
6. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
7. A commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: €15.00-€17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
