Job Opportunity
Due to successful contract wins, there is a requirement to expand the CNC team.
You will report to the Value Stream Manager and be responsible for manufacturing precision components that meet drawing requirements, including tolerances and specifications. You will also perform self-verification of technical compliance using appropriate measuring equipment and techniques.
The role involves operating CNC mill turn/mills/gear shaping machines, interpreting engineering drawings to ISO standards, setting up, loading, and programme proving out. You will assist in selecting appropriate cutters, tools, and optimising speeds and feeds for ferrous materials. Additionally, you will use engineering metrology from first principles, including inspection, gauging, and measuring techniques, to produce high-quality work.
Shift Pattern
The current shift pattern is two weeks of Monday to Wednesday (20 minutes per day) and two weeks of Thursday to Saturday (20 minutes per day).
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should have:
* NVQ Level 3 in a relevant discipline or equivalent.
* Experience in an engineering/manufacturing/aerospace environment.
* Experience with setting up and operating twin spindle, twin turret, multi-axis CNC machine tools.
You should be able to read and understand work instructions, interpret engineering drawings and production cards, and have knowledge of Siemens controls and machining.
