Objective of the Role
Reporting to the Sales & Marketing Manager, the Meeting & Events Executive will be responsible for maximising the sales potential and achieving the Meeting & Events sales targets of the hotel.
Key Duties And Responsibilities
* To assist with meeting rooms set-up and service when requested, ensuring all details are 100% accurate.
* Ensuring all booking deposits are in place and all charges for events are posted and charged daily.
* Maintain and update the website regularly using the Content Management System.
* To manage the online profiles of the hotel on various platforms.
* To facilitate familiarisation trips and site visits for all sales opportunities from bedrooms, meeting rooms and F&B.
* Assist with creating strategies to drive more business for meeting rooms and F&B.
* Meeting KPIs for department meeting room rental, Food & Beverage & ancillary revenue with a proactive sales approach to ensure this is met on a monthly basis.
* To assist with the promotion of the property at networking events.
* To carry out regular competitor research projects as requested.
* Build a rapport with potential clients to convert enquiries into confirmed bookings.
* Build relationships with clients to encourage repeat business.
* Co-ordinate event bookings, ensuring effective verbal and written communication with clients at all times.
* Liase and communicate with internal staff as well as external suppliers as necessary to ensure efficient co-ordination of events.
* To participate fully in all sales activities including tele sales, sales calls, corporate entertaining, social events, promotions, etc.
Requirements
* Excellent organisational & administration skills.
* Event sales or coordinating experience in a hotel or venue is desired but not required.
* Reactive sales experience is a must with proactive sales experience desirable.
* Experience working with customers.
* An excellent command of the English language.
* Possess the ability to see an opportunity and act on it to secure revenue for the Hotel.
* Strong selling and interpersonal skills.
* Strong communicator.
