PE Global Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Facilities Engineer to join our client, a leading Tier 1 construction company based in South Dublin. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge, experience managing facilities or maintenance operations, and the ability to communicate effectively with both internal teams and external service providers.
Responsibilities:
1. Supervise suppliers and service providers to ensure they meet contracted obligations safely, effectively, and efficiently, seeking opportunities for improvement.
2. Assist in preparing and managing operational budgets related to department and facility operations.
3. Participate in the after-hours Facilities Emergency Contact rota.
4. Act as the primary point of contact for facilities, project management, fit-out, and crisis management activities on-site, ensuring timely resolutions and identifying and addressing potential obstacles.
5. Develop strong working relationships with key client stakeholders and all facilities management vendors to align with client culture and deliver high-quality service.
6. Address minor technical repairs and act as the first point of contact for building issues, including out-of-hours escalations.
7. Serve as the client's contact for logging issues.
8. Monitor Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedules, Operations & Maintenance manuals (O&M's), warranties, Task System, Asset & Life Cycle Registers.
9. Ensure health and safety during events, including contractor supervision and review of health and safety documentation.
10. Collaborate with the Health & Safety Manager to prepare Risk Assessment Method Statements (RAMS).
11. Manage expenditure and budgets in accordance with policies and procedures, including processing purchase orders (POs), cost variations, invoices, and budgets.
12. Perform any other duties required by the Facilities Division Manager.
Requirements:
Skills, Qualifications & Experience:
1. Desired qualifications in Facilities Management, Property Management, Construction Management, or similar (not required).
2. Engineering degree or background in trades, with previous experience in facilities, maintenance, property, or construction management preferred.
3. Flexibility to work outside normal hours as required.
4. Excellent interpersonal skills, both written and verbal, to communicate effectively with internal stakeholders, external contractors, and service providers.
5. Strong organisational skills, ability to prioritise competing demands, and a methodical approach to problem-solving.
6. High attention to accuracy and detail.
7. Initiative-driven, with a highly organised and flexible approach to work.
8. Solution-oriented with the ability to work under pressure and resolve critical business issues.
9. Experience in financial management, budgeting, and identifying cost savings/avoidance.
10. Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
11. Excellent communication skills, including presentation and negotiation.
12. Able to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
13. Driven to meet deadlines, manage time efficiently, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
14. Strong written and verbal English skills.
