Business Development Manager Medical Supplies
Principal Purpose:
The Business Development Manager is responsible for identifying, creating, and driving new business opportunities while maintaining strong relationships with existing clients. This role involves market research, lead generation, sales strategy development, and executing revenue growth initiatives.
Nature and Scope:
The role requires proactive engagement with key stakeholders, expanding our company’s customer base and building long-term partnerships to achieve company objectives. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, target-driven, and capable of negotiating and closing high value deals.
Principal Accountabilities
New Business & Sales Growth
* Proactively seek and generate new business opportunities to drive revenue growth.
* Research market trends, identify potential clients, and develop a strategic sales approach.
* Lead prospecting efforts through cold calling, networking, and attending industry events.
* Develop and execute tailored sales presentations and proposals to attract new customers.
* Negotiate and close business deals, ensuring profitability and alignment with company goals.
Account Management & Client Retention
* Develop strong, trust-based relationships with key clients to ensure long-term partnerships.
* Regularly meet with clients to assess their needs and propose solutions aligned with our company offerings.
* Serve as the primary point of contact between customers and internal teams, ensuring seamless communication.
* Address and resolve any client concerns, maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
* Identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities to maximize revenue from existing clients.
Strategic Market Engagement
* Conduct competitor analysis and market research to identify trends, opportunities, and threats.
* Develop and implement business development strategies to strengthen our company's market position.
* Collaborate with the marketing team to create targeted campaigns that drive lead generation and brand awareness.
* Represent our company at trade exhibitions, industry events, and networking forums.
Sales Performance & Reporting
* Meet and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
* Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and revenue forecasts using NetSuite.
* Provide regular reports on business development activities, sales performance, and market trends to senior management.
* Continuously analyze sales performance to refine strategies and improve efficiency.
Collaboration & Professional Development
* Work closely with internal departments, including Customer Service and Purchasing, to enhance the overall customer experience.
* Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and emerging technologies.
* Participate in training sessions, workshops, and professional development programs to sharpen business acumen and sales techniques.
