Our client supplies ingredients to over 30 countries worldwide. A leading nutritional ingredients supplier, they are leaders in their market. They are searching for a Procurement Manager, in a new and exciting role to support the Supply Chain Director.
Job Role
The Procurement Manager has the responsibility for leading the procurement activities of the organisation to ensure that goods and services are sourced efficiently, cost-effectively, and in compliance with organisational policies and relevant regulations. The role involves supplier relationship management, negotiation, and ensuring the timely delivery of materials and services to support the organisation’s operational and strategic objectives.
Responsibilities
1. Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with the overall business objectives
2. Analyse market trends to identify cost-saving opportunities and risk mitigation measures
3. Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand to ensure continuity of supply
4. Oversee the procurement process, including requisitions, purchase orders, and delivery tracking
5. Ensure compliance with procurement policies, legal requirements, and industry regulations
6. Resolve issues related to delivery, quality, or invoicing with suppliers
7. Prepare regular reports on procurement performance, savings achieved, and supplier evaluations
8. Work closely with internal departments to understand their procurement needs
9. Use data analytics and reporting tools to help facilitate better decision making across the business
10. Collaborate closely with the Sales and Pricing teams within the business, to help align and deliver competitive quotations
11. Understand the cross functional impact of decisions and have sufficient interpersonal skills to discuss and liaise with stakeholders of any necessary changes
12. Identify, evaluate, and establish relationships with suppliers
13. Conduct regular performance reviews and audits of suppliers to ensure quality and reliability
14. Negotiate contracts, pricing, terms, and conditions with suppliers to secure the best value
15. Drive cost-saving initiatives and maintain financial accountability
16. Analyse spend data to identify trends and opportunities for cost reduction
Personal Profile
1. A minimum 3rd level honours degree qualification in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or similar
2. 5+ years’ experience in a similar or suitably adjacent role, preferably in an ingredients or related industry
3. Experience in contract law and procurement regulations
4. Experience working in a technical/science-based company a distinct advantage
5. Good business sense with genuine interest and natural curiosity for the food/chemical/dietary supplements industry
6. Ability to work in a dynamic, nimble, entrepreneurial and fast-moving environment
7. Strong analytical skills (expert knowledge of MS Excel, BI, POWER BI, SQL or other similar tools)
8. Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail and high degree of accuracy
9. Strong organisational, planning and time management skills
10. Ability to work effectively within a team and manage cross-functional collaboration
11. Strong communicator who can clearly present her/his ideas across different levels of the business
