Summary Of Post
This is an exceptional opportunity for a senior nurse with passion, vision and energy to be a part of the research team in the Dept of Anaesthesia and Critical Care. We are seeking a motivated, flexible candidate with a robust clinical skill set to work as a Clinical Research nurse in the dynamic environment of Critical Care. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research in the field of critical care medicine. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in advancing our understanding of critical care treatments and improving patient outcomes. The research nurse will support research trials based at the Intensive Care Unit at Beaumont Hospital. As part of this role research projects will range from investigator lead studies to clinical trials involving investigational medicinal products specifically related to Critical Care and Anaesthesia. The Clinical Research Nurse will play a vital role in the implementation, and coordination of clinical research studies.
Specifically, The Duties Of The Post Are
1. Conducting research activities including screening, consenting and recruiting patients for clinical trials.
2. Administering study interventions and collecting data in an accurate and timely fashion according to research protocols.
3. Working with an interdisciplinary team to ensure effective coordination and execution of research.
4. Maintaining research compliance by adhering to ethical guidelines, research regulations and institutional policies with a high standard of record keeping.
5. Educating and supporting patients and members of the research team.
6. Ensuring continuous professional development to facilitate up to date knowledge on research developments, advances in critical care and emerging technologies and to enhance knowledge and skills.
Qualifications/Experience - Mandatory
1. Must be registered with an appropriate division of Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland.
2. Have successfully completed bachelor's degree level or above, nursing education.
3. Have a minimum of 5 years post registration experience.
4. Have a minimum of 3 years ICU experience.
5. Have good IT skills including Microsoft Office, email etc.
6. Evidence of organisation and project management skills.
7. Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
8. Understanding of research methodologies, Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines and regulatory requirements.
9. Ability to work independently, self-directed but also works well within a team and under supervision and direction.
