Head of Purchasing Job Description
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Head of Purchasing to support operational efficiency and quality in engineering output, while overseeing procurement strategies, negotiating contracts, and ensuring cost-effective acquisition of materials and services.
Key Responsibilities
* Coordinate purchasing activities at company level
* Support the Project Manager in defining and implementing the divisional purchasing strategy
* Implement and further develop group-wide and division-wide Material Group Management
* Optimize replenishment times and implement a multi-supplier strategy
* Ensure the availability of materials
* Lead on reduction in material costs
* Manage Purchasing Department staff
* Develop purchasing methods and tools
* Take responsibility for purchasing control
* Lead all purchasing project portfolio
Qualifications, Requirements, and Experience
* Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement management
* Sound knowledge of procurement strategies
* Educated to degree level or hold relevant qualifications coupled with extensive experience
