Biomedical Engineering Technician
This role will be based across multiple sites, requiring a full driving licence and own vehicle.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
* Travel and work in multiple UPMC sites to provide maintenance services for electro-medical equipment.
* Apply knowledge and qualifications to diagnose mechanical, electrical, electronic, IT problems/issues associated with medical devices.
* Assist with the co-ordination and implementation of preventative maintenance schedules and safety programmes.
* Audit medical equipment and report recommendations regarding life expectancy or replacement.
* Liaise with clinical staff to schedule preventative maintenance.
* Manage external contractors and maintain good co-operation and close working links with members of other teams.
* Perform other duties as assigned by the Biomedical Department Manager.
Qualifications & Experience:
* Hold a recognised qualification at Quality and Qualifications Ireland, Level 7 or higher in one of the following engineering disciplines: Electronic, Electrical, Instrument, Physics, Industrial Instrumentation, Applied Physics, Mechanical, Mechatronic, Biomedical Engineering.
* Possess good problem-solving skills, ability to develop solutions to complex situations, and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* Ability to engage and communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, gather, interpret and analyse information to make informed decisions.
* Ability to meet deadlines, work on own initiative, and deal effectively with multiple tasks simultaneously.
* Possess excellent I.T. skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, E-mail and internet knowledge.
