Educational Leader required for StartBright Greenhills
(Tallaght) 20 hours per week
Applications are being sought from suitably qualified and experienced individuals for the role of Educational Leader at our StartBright Greenhills centre, located in Tallaght. This is a 1 year maternity cover contract.
We require dedicated, flexible, and enthusiastic individuals who are quality-driven and have a child-focused approach to early childhood education.
All applicants must have a minimum qualification of FETAC level 7 in Early Years and Education.
The role of the Educational Leader is to work directly with their early years’ service to build on their capacity to deliver high quality, inclusive early childhood care and education for children and families. This role may also include a room leader/supervisor role, so experience in a leadership role in an early years setting is essential.
Primary Duties:
1. Quality of Pedagogy:
o Enhance and develop the quality of the early year’s provision in their service through a range of supportive approaches including observation, advising, modelling, and coaching in accordance with identified targets and outcomes.
o Support the early years service to develop and actively implement a range of policies and practices in alignment with Síolta and Aistear and the Early Childhood Quality and Regulatory Framework (QRF).
o Support staff in developing quality services that are underpinned by LINC and the Diversity, Equality & Inclusion Charter Guideline for Early Childhood Care and Education.
o Engage and support service engagement with the Aistear Siolta Practice Guide.
o Research and development in line with national and international models of quality practices, philosophy, and pedagogy.
o Perform onboarding training with new educators to ensure they are supported in implementing the StartBright Way.
o Observe practice as a key element of quality pedagogy, utilizing informal and formal methods.
2. Quality of Service:
o Support and enhance the development of core skills such as self-evaluation and quality assessment, planning, and documenting practice.
o Develop and ensure that action plans are relevant, current, regularly reviewed, and updated.
o Support staff in best practice in relation to governance and advising on building effective partnerships with parents and the wider community.
o Play an active role within the Tusla inspection process.
3. Information & Administration:
o Complete and maintain records and reports pertaining to the role.
o Ensure all administration back-up and support is kept updated.
o Participate in and assist in the organisation of special events, visits, and any other activities required.
4. Continuous Improvement:
o Participate in training relevant to the post and bring evidence-based best practice to the attention of the management team.
o Discuss continuous improvements and quality of service at monthly management meetings.
5. Any other duties within the general requirements of the role that may be assigned as appropriate.
