The Role
The ideal candidate will be confident in operating all aspects of a professional kitchen, be a good communicator, and consistently innovate and achieve goals.
Responsibilities
* Operate all aspects of the kitchen functions, food preparation, stock control, staff & volunteer supervision, budgeting.
* Ensure compliance with food safety, health, and safety regulations.
* Develop and support innovation in product development to best meet the needs of our ageing population, people living with chronic illness or disability.
* Identify areas for process improvement and nutritional research to ensure the service continues to support older people and vulnerable groups through nutritious meals.
* Support opportunities for social and community employment by championing a protective and supportive workplace environment for individuals who are long-term unemployed or may need additional supports in the workplace.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and networking skills.
* Have a passion for social impact and working with people.
* Be driven to succeed with an ability to deliver on objectives.
* An ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
* Proactive and self-motivated with the ability to adapt to new situations.
* Act professionally in all aspects of work and be a strong fit with the culture and ethos of COPE Galway and Meals4Health to best represent our work.
* IT skills, with Microsoft Office capabilities.
* Full driver's license.
Education and Training
* 3rd Level qualification (ideally Level 6 or higher NFQ Major award) relevant to the role.
* Evidence of ongoing training and upskilling.
