Their projects span a range of sectors, including corporate offices, retail, hospitality, and more.
They are seeking a fully qualified interior architect to join their team. This is primarily an office-based role but would require travel within the working day to visit sites and meet with clients.
About Your New Job
In your new role you will be the lead architect responsible for managing interior architectural and design projects within the commercial office Fit-Out sector from concept design through to Practical Completion, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget as well as being the main point of contact for professional sign-off, Opinion of Compliance, and PSDP Accredited and ensuring adherence to statutory regulations, including Planning, Fire Safety Certificate (FSC), Disability Access Certificate (DAC) compliance, and Assigned Certifier elements.
You will also use your design expertise to develop creative and innovative interior design solutions while considering functional and aesthetic aspects, collaborating with clients to understand their requirements and translate them into design concepts. You will also be required to collaborate effectively with contractors and subcontractors to ensure the successful execution of projects as well as all design team members.
Strong presentation skills will be needed in this role to convey design concepts to clients and stakeholders and to create captivating visual presentations and the ability to work on your own initiative within a small team and take ownership of project responsibility around the design function.
Day to day duties will include discussing the objectives, requirements, and budget of a project with the client, preparing drawings and presenting ideas for the client to review, making necessary changes throughout the planning process and developing final construction plans.
You will also need to prepare and submit planning applications on behalf of clients, following building codes, fire regulations, and other requirements and perform site inspection visits to assess the quality of the work and to certify the work for payment.
What Skills You Need
1. A qualification in architecture, interior design, construction management, or a related field and experience working with Irish building regulations.
2. A fully qualified RIAI Interior Architect with a minimum of 3-5 years of post-registration experience in interior architecture or interior design.
3. Strong project management skills and proven experience in office fit-outs, refurbishments, or interior design and build projects and strong knowledge of the interior fit-out process, including design development, site management, and construction methods is a distinct advantage.
4. Proficiency in design software and tools (AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, etc.).
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
6. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
7. Knowledge of sustainable design practices is a plus.
