Vacancy - Deputy Shift Supervisor
Are you excited by the opportunity to continue to develop your expertise in leading a team of operatives in a fast paced, operational environment? We are seeking a Deputy Shift Supervisor to join our team based in Marine Terminals Dublin.
Your role
In this role, you will support the efficient day-to-day running of MTL container operations, forming a strong partnership with the Shift Supervisor to motivate and support your team to deliver business/customer goals and objectives. You will have the opportunity to continue to develop your skillset and abilities to be fully confident managing a shift and all associated tasks, also providing cover when the Shift Supervisor is on annual leave or otherwise engaged.
You will adhere to our Safety365 policies with specific responsibility for ensuring the safe working of all staff and promoting a safe place to work without risk, liaising with the Maintenance Department and Operations management to ensure all required resources and procedures are in place, ensuring plant and equipment is operated in a safe and proper manner. You will role model leadership behaviours, setting standards and influencing others to achieve objectives. You will ensure relevant working agreements, company policies and procedures are adhered to fairly and consistently, reporting any anomalies immediately to the Terminal Operations Manager and HR department.
You will ensure we exceed customer expectations through operational change and leading the promotion of the Irish port operations performance rankings.
What you'll bring
You will have experience of supervising teams within an operational environment, demonstrating leadership behaviours and the ability to build, support and develop a team. You will be confident in dealing with day to day operational challenges and will have the ability to handle change in a fast moving, operational environment. You will have an appetite to learn and continually improve your skills and experience.
You will ideally be able to use and understand Cofano TOS including accessing, inputting and compiling data as well as having experience of using Microsoft Office.
